Plastic bottle with spray pump is a practical packaging intended mainly for cosmetic products and liquid mixtures where gentle and even application is required. Thanks to the high‑quality plastic body and functional spray mechanism, it represents a reliable solution for packaging products for home cosmetics, artisan production as well as smaller professional batches. The darker design of the bottle helps protect more sensitive formulations from light and contributes to longer stability of the contents.
Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation). Possible changes in viscosity, alcohol content or active substances may affect the behaviour of the sprayer and the long‑term stability of the entire packaging–contents system.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, both the bottle and the sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol ALK001 or plant‑based ethanol ALK002. Only after complete drying and evaporation of the disinfectant is the packaging ready for refilling, which minimises the risk of microbial contamination and impact on product stability.
Before cleaning, it is advisable to unscrew the sprayer from the bottle and rinse it with clean water, or with a diluted mild cleaning solution that does not leave residues. We then recommend pumping a small amount of disinfectant alcohol (e.g. products ALK001 or ALK002) through the mechanism to disinfect the inner capillary and the nozzle. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry thoroughly at room temperature. For thicker or more oily formulations, it is advisable to count on more frequent maintenance in order to prevent clogging of the sprayer.
A bottle with sprayer is generally also suitable for formulations with low to medium alcohol content and with an appropriate proportion of essential oils; however, we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test. In a small trial batch, verify the stability of the plastic body and the sprayer in contact with the specific formulation – monitor any changes in colour, odour, surface tension or spraying functionality over time. Thanks to the test, you will have confidence that the combination of packaging and contents will be reliably stable over the long term.
If you decide not to use the packaging any more, we recommend environmentally considerate recycling according to the material specified in the product parameters. The plastic body of the bottle can usually be placed, after emptying and basic rinsing, into the container intended for sorted plastic collection. The sprayer, which may contain a combination of several materials, should be unscrewed and its marking checked. In case of doubt, it is best to follow local waste‑sorting rules or to hand the packaging over at a collection yard, where they will recommend the most suitable way of handling this type of material.
On the Handymade website you can use the advanced filter located at the top section after entering a specific packaging category. Using this filter, you can easily narrow down the selection according to the parameters that are key for your product – especially according to the type and size of the neck, total volume, colour of the packaging and material used. In this way you will quickly find suitable bottles, pharma bottles, jars or containers that will correspond to your formulation and the desired dosing method.
