FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this glass pharmaceutical bottle with spray pump also suitable for alcoholic and aromatic mixtures?

The glass bottle is generally suitable for most common alcoholic and aromatic mixtures that are used in cosmetics and in the production of room sprays. However, given the diversity of formulations, we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – filling a smaller amount of product, monitoring any changes in colour, fragrance, clarity or condition of the spray pump, and verifying that the spraying mechanism functions reliably even during longer storage.

How should the packaging be properly cleaned and disinfected when reused?

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly washed, freed from residues of the previous product and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol. For disinfection we recommend using for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol: IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol 1 l or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based 1 l. After disinfection, let the packaging dry completely at room temperature. Only then is it ready to be refilled with a new formulation.

How should the filled glass bottle with spray pump be properly stored?

We recommend storing the filled pharmaceutical bottle in a dry place, at a stable room temperature and away from direct sunlight or sources of heat. Although smoky glass helps reduce exposure to light, for optimal stability of sensitive components (for example essential oils or active substances) it is advisable to avoid long-term exposure to high temperatures and intense light. When handling, make sure the spray pump is tightened firmly so that no unwanted leakage of the contents occurs.

How can this packaging be safely disposed of and recycled if I do not wish to continue using it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules and the information stated in the product parameters. The glass part of the bottle can in most cases be placed into the container designated for glass after removal of residual contents. The spray pump, which consists of several materials (plastic, metal springs), generally needs to be sorted according to the instructions of your collection company or disposed of in mixed waste if local rules do not allow more detailed sorting. Before discarding, ensure that no residues of hazardous chemical substances remain in the packaging.
