Candelilla wax (Candelila wax) is a plant-based wax that is a great vegan alternative to beeswax. It is obtained from the stem of the shrub Euphorbia Cerifera.
It has a dark yellow colour.

It is added to cosmetic products mainly for uniformity and thickening (it also acts as an emulsifier), hardness and to provide gloss. It is especially popular in lipsticks, lip balms, body butters or creams. You will also appreciate its properties when making bath pralines. It protects the skin against moisture loss, hydrates it and conditions it at the same time. Dissolve it in a hot oil bath.

The recommended dosage is 1–5 %.
