Product description
A glass dropper bottle solves one thing: precise drop-by-drop dispensing without fingers touching the contents. The set combines a clear glass bottle 30 ml with a matte black dropper with a glossy band, and is intended for liquid cosmetic preparations where the amount per application matters.
Clear glass reveals the colour and clarity of the contents, which is useful for serums and oils where appearance is part of the result. Glass does not react with common cosmetic ingredients, does not absorb fragrances, and can be washed and disinfected repeatedly. The dropper consists of a glass tube, a plastic screw cap and a silicone bulb used to draw up and dispense the contents.
Key benefits
- Precise dispensing – the dropper draws the contents drop by drop, making it easy to apply the recommended amount of serum or oil per use.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents are not handled with fingers, no contaminants enter the bottle, and the product stays clean for longer.
- Chemically stable glass – does not absorb fragrances or colorants and tolerates oil-based, water-based and alcohol-based contents.
- Visible contents – clear glass lets you monitor the colour, clarity and remaining amount of the product.
- Finished product appearance – the matte black dropper with a glossy band looks consistent on the clear glass bottle and suits minimalist labels.
What the set is suitable for
The 30 ml volume corresponds to standard packaging for facial serums and concentrated products used in small amounts. The set is therefore most suitable for:
- facial serums in both water-based and oil-based formulations,
- oil blends and facial oils, including oils with added essential oils,
- diluted active ingredients and concentrates intended for adding to creams or masks,
- tinctures and alcohol extracts used in cosmetics,
- beard oils, cuticle oils or hair end oils.
The set is not suitable for thick creams and balms, as the dropper cannot draw them up. For such textures, we recommend a jar or a pump bottle.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for food contact, so it is not suitable for household oils, syrups or food extracts.
Nominal and total volume
For every container we distinguish two volumes. The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during standard filling and what is stated on the label. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a headspace that is important with a dropper: when screwed in, the glass tube sinks into the contents and displaces some volume upward. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, never to the brim, otherwise the contents will overflow when the dropper is fitted. The specific values for both volumes are in the product parameters.
When filling for the first time, check the correct fill level with a trial run: fill the bottle to the nominal volume, fit the dropper and verify that the contents do not leak and the bulb can be pressed comfortably without overpressure.
Good to know
Preparation before filling. Before first use, wash the bottle and dropper with warm water and detergent, rinse thoroughly, disinfect and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the glass tube or bulb may dilute an anhydrous product or affect the stability of a water-based formulation.
Light and product stability. Clear glass does not protect the contents from light. Products sensitive to light, such as serums with vitamin C, retinol or oils prone to oxidation, should be stored in the dark or in a box, or amber or blue glass should be chosen instead. For common oils and serums containing an antioxidant, clear glass is sufficient when kept out of direct sunlight.
Dropper and contents. The glass tube tolerates water-based, oil-based and alcohol-based contents. For products with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the behaviour of the silicone bulb and the plastic parts of the cap over time, ideally with a short test using the specific formulation.
Viscosity. The dropper reliably dispenses liquid and mildly viscous products. With thicker serums containing a higher proportion of gelling agents, dispensing slows down and drops become larger, which is worth noting in the dosage instructions.
Glass and heat. Do not subject the bottle to sudden temperature changes. Allow a hot phase to cool before filling and do not fill cold glass with hot contents.
Labelling. The straight cylindrical wall allows a wrap-around label or a smaller front label to be applied.
Reuse and recycling. After thorough washing and disinfection, the set can be used again. The glass bottle belongs in glass collection. The dropper is made of glass, plastic and silicone, so before recycling, separate the tube, bulb and plastic cap.
Other closures with the same neck type as stated in the parameters, and ready-made container and closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. When using your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour and compatibility of the container with the specific formulation.
