Product description

This is a complete set of a black glossy glass bottle with a nominal volume of 30 ml and a black dropper with a matte tip and glossy stripe. It is designed for precise drop-by-drop dispensing of liquid cosmetic products – facial serums, facial and hair oils, oil blends with essential oils, tinctures or concentrated active ingredients applied in small amounts.

The main advantage is the opaque black glass. It blocks light from reaching the contents, helping to slow down the oxidation of light-sensitive substances such as vegetable oils, vitamins or essential oils. The glossy bottle with the matte dropper tip also works as ready-made packaging for private label or gift versions of products without any further modification.

How the set dispenses and seals

The dropper consists of a glass tube, a plastic threaded ring and a silicone bulb. Squeezing the bulb draws up the contents and releases them drop by drop, making it easy to follow the recommended dosage – for example, a few drops of serum for the entire face. Once screwed on, the dropper seals the bottle; however, for transport on its side or longer journeys we recommend verifying the seal with the specific formulation.

With thicker contents, such as serums with a higher proportion of thickener, drops form more slowly and may be larger. The dropper is best suited for low-viscosity liquids – oils, aqueous and alcoholic solutions, light serums.

Before first use, wash the bottle and dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual moisture in an oil-based product shortens its stability.

Nominal and total volume

For packaging, two values are distinguished. The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended during standard filling and which is stated on the label. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper tube, which displaces part of the volume when inserted, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim – otherwise the contents will overflow when the dropper is inserted. Both values can be found in the product specifications.

What's worth knowing

  • Black glass conceals the fill level – you cannot see through the wall how much contents remain. During production, filling is done by volume or weight, not by eye; information about the number of doses on the label will help the customer.
  • Oil-based and alcoholic contents – glass is resistant to oils, essential oils and alcohol. With tinctures containing a high proportion of alcohol and with concentrated essential oils, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the silicone bulb with the specific formulation, especially for longer storage.
  • Aqueous serums – the set is also suitable for aqueous formulations, but these must be properly preserved. The dropper returns into the bottle during use, bringing with it air and microbial load from the surroundings.
  • Labelling – a light, metallic or transparent label with white print stands out on the glossy black surface.
  • Reuse – both the bottle and the dropper can be reused after thorough washing. With oils, check that no residues remain in the tube and bulb that could oxidise.
  • Recycling – the bottle goes in glass recycling, the dropper is separated before disposal and sorted separately.

Both the bottle and the dropper are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; declarations of conformity are included with the product. Closures with the same neck type as stated in the specifications, and other ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.

The food contact certificate applies solely to the glass bottle on its own. The complete set with the dropper as a whole is intended for cosmetics, not for filling food-grade oils, syrups or extracts.

Frequently asked questions

Does the black glass bottle with dropper protect the contents from light?
Yes, black glass is opaque and does not allow light to reach the contents. This is particularly beneficial for facial oils, serums with vitamins and blends with essential oils, which oxidise more quickly when exposed to light. However, light protection does not replace preservation or antioxidants in the formulation – the stability of the product is also affected by temperature and air exposure.
How much can actually be filled into the 30 ml bottle with dropper?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 30 ml, not to the brim. The bottle also has a reserve to accommodate the dropper tube when inserted and any expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If overfilled, the contents will overflow through the neck when the dropper is screwed on. The exact nominal and total volume values are in the product specifications.
Is the set with dropper suitable for oils and serums with essential oils?
Yes, the set is designed precisely for oils, oil serums and liquid concentrates dispensed drop by drop. Glass is resistant to both oils and essential oils. With formulations containing a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol, we recommend verifying how the silicone dropper bulb behaves with prolonged contact before a larger production run.
Is the black bottle and dropper set suitable for food products?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. The food contact certificate applies solely to the glass bottle; the dropper does not have one. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products – serums, oils, tinctures for external use. For food-grade oils or extracts, use a bottle with a closure that has documented food-grade suitability.
Can the bottle with dropper be washed and reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the dropper can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. The bottle simply needs to be washed with warm soapy water, rinsed and disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For the dropper, it is also necessary to rinse the inside of the tube and bulb to ensure no residues of the previous contents remain, and everything should be allowed to dry completely.
How do I know how much contents remain in the opaque bottle?
The level cannot be seen through the black glass; the amount can be estimated by the weight of the bottle or by how deeply the dropper still draws up liquid. When selling, it helps to state on the label an approximate number of doses or drops per pack so the customer knows what consumption to expect.
