Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. However, before each new filling it is necessary to thoroughly clean and disinfect both the bottle and the sprayer, ideally using a suitable alcohol (for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol). For disinfection you can use products available on Handymade, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, let all parts dry completely and only then refill the container.

Protect the plastic packaging from long-term exposure to high temperatures and direct sunlight so that neither the material properties deteriorate nor the appearance changes. When cleaning, use moderately warm water and mild soapy or non-aggressive cleaning agents. The packaging is not suitable for washing in a dishwasher or for boiling, because there is a risk of deformation of the material and impairment of the sprayer sealing. After washing, let all parts air-dry to prevent residual moisture in the system.

The sprayer is optimally adapted for low-viscosity, predominantly water-based or alcoholic solutions without larger solid particles. Thick emulsions, gels or products containing undissolved particles can clog the nozzle and reduce the quality of atomization. Therefore, for new formulations we always recommend performing a trial filling and a longer-term dispensing stability test to verify that the sprayer creates the desired type of mist or spray.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the type of plastic material specified in the parameter table for the given product on Handymade. Before handing it over for collection, empty the packaging, rinse it as thoroughly as possible and separate the individual parts (for example the bottle body and the sprayer) if this is required by the local recycling rules. Then dispose of the packaging in the appropriate sorted-waste container according to the material designation so that it can be efficiently processed in the recycling process.
