Can this plastic jar be used repeatedly?

The jar can be reused provided that you follow basic hygiene principles. Before each new filling, the container must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination of the new product. For disinfection, we recommend using a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow the jar and lid to dry completely at room temperature and only then fill with the new product.

For what type of cosmetic products is this jar most suitable?

The jar is ideal especially for creamy and more solid formulations, such as facial and body creams, butters, lip balms, massage balms or scrubs. You can also use it for gel products, clay masks, powder blends or small quantities of test products. During production, we always recommend verifying the compatibility of the specific formula with the plastic material in the form of a small trial batch so that you can be sure that the packaging and contents are mutually stable.

How should I properly clean the jar before further use so that I do not affect the product quality?

First mechanically remove the residues of the original product and wash the jar with a suitable cleaning agent intended for dishes or laboratory equipment. After thorough rinsing with clean water, let the jar dry and then proceed to disinfect the inner surface and the lid with alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After the alcohol has evaporated and complete drying, the packaging is ready for new filling. This procedure supports the stability and hygiene of your cosmetics.

How can I properly recycle this jar or dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way if I do not wish to use it further?

If you decide not to use the jar any longer, we recommend, after emptying and basic cleaning, placing it in sorted waste according to the material specified in the parameter table next to the product on the Handymade website. By following local waste sorting rules, you ensure that the material can be reprocessed in the recycling process. Before disposal, remove any product residues and, if the lid is made of a different type of plastic than the body of the jar, sort the individual parts separately according to the recommendations in your municipality.
