Yes, the glass bottle with dropper is suitable for packaging oil-based serums, vegetable oils, and essential oils where precise dropwise dosing is required. Glass is a stable material that, when used correctly, does not compromise the composition of oil-based formulations. Before filling, we recommend always cleaning and disinfecting the packaging according to the type of product you will be using.
The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each refilling, the bottle and the dropper must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection, you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. Only after the packaging is completely dry should you refill it, ideally with the same type of formulation, to minimize the risk of cross-contamination.
First mechanically clean the outer and inner parts of the bottle – remove product residues with warm water and a suitable detergent that is compatible with your formulation. After thorough rinsing, allow the packaging to dry and then disinfect it with an alcohol-based preparation, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. The dropper should be disassembled into its accessible parts (pipette, rubber or plastic component) and these parts cleaned separately. Maintain a clean working environment and use clean tools during handling to minimize the risk of microbial contamination.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to local waste sorting rules and the information provided in the product parameters on Handymade.sk. The glass bottle can usually be sorted into a glass container; it is advisable to remove any remaining contents and separate the dropper and any plastic or rubber parts, which should be placed in the appropriate plastic or mixed waste collection according to the system in your municipality.
