The glass bottle with dropper represents a professional packaging suitable for precise dosing of liquid cosmetic blends, serums, extracts or aromatic compositions. Thanks to the high-quality processing of the glass and the functional dropper, the packaging is ideal for products where controlled, hygienic and economical dosing is important. The darker glass also helps to reduce light penetration, which contributes to better stability of sensitive components during storage.
This packaging is supplied as a combination of glass bottle and dropper, therefore no additional closures are needed. The combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test – to verify sealing, method of dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, oil content, presence of active ingredients or aromatic components).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the enclosed Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Before filling, we recommend first mechanically cleaning the glass bottle and the dropper from any possible impurities and then disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation. In practice, the use of high-percentage alcohol has proved effective, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow all parts to drain thoroughly and dry at room temperature away from a direct source of heat, and only then fill the packaging with the final product.
The bottle and the dropper can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. However, before each new filling it is essential to clean the packaging thoroughly and then disinfect it with a suitable alcohol, for example the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. We recommend repeated use only within the same or a very similar category of products (for example oil blends), in order to minimize the risk of residual odours or components in the packaging.
For thicker oils and more viscous formulations, we recommend carrying out a dosing test on a small trial batch of the product. Never overfill the bottle to the very top – leave sufficient free space for air so that the dropper can draw in properly. If the product is very thick, it may be appropriate to slightly reduce the viscosity, for example by adding a lighter vegetable oil or a dry oil, or to allow for slower dosing and application drop by drop.
Always store filled glass bottles with sensitive active ingredients tightly closed, at a stable room temperature, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Avoid extreme temperature fluctuations and humid environments. For longer stability of the formulation, it is appropriate to keep the packaging in a closed cabinet or drawer, or in the original box, which will limit exposure to light and ambient humidity.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly. It is appropriate to empty the glass bottle, wipe any remaining contents and then place it in the container designated for glass according to the local waste sorting rules. The dropper consists of several materials (glass pipette, plastic and rubber parts), therefore it is best to separate the individual parts as far as possible and sort them in accordance with the recommendations of the local waste collection. Specific recycling recommendations should be adapted to the material composition given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website.
