The glass medicine bottle is suitable for packaging most common active serums and concentrated cosmetic blends, since glass is a material with high chemical stability and does not react with typical ingredients of cosmetic formulations. Thanks to its dark, opaque surface, light penetration is also limited, which is practical for light-sensitive substances. However, before final filling we recommend making a trial batch and verifying the stability of the specific product over time.

The packaging can be reused when hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned, any residue of the original product removed and then disinfected with a suitable agent. For disinfection we recommend using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, for example the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After treatment, allow the packaging to dry completely in a clean environment and only then refill it.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules. After emptying the glass bottle, remove any product residues and place it in the appropriate glass container according to the system in your municipality. Sort the cap, dropper or dispenser according to the material indicated in the parameters of the specific product. By recycling the packaging, you reduce the amount of waste and support the efficient use of raw materials.

Glass is a material that withstands common concentrations of alcohol and oily components well and is therefore suitable for various tonics, tinctures, oil blends or perfumed solutions. However, for very specific or highly concentrated formulations we recommend carrying out a pre-filling test – leaving a small amount of product in the bottle for several days and checking whether there are any changes in the appearance, smell or properties of the contents and whether the sealing of the closure is fully functional.

Packaging can be filtered by neck type, size, colour and material, which significantly facilitates the selection of a suitable bottle, medicine bottle, jar or pot for the specific product.

When choosing a closure or dispenser, it is important that it is compatible with the neck type and intended for the planned way of using the product. For products with low viscosity, droppers or fine dispensers are suitable; for tonics and sprays, spraying is practical; and for thicker formulations, an applicator with a larger flow rate can be advantageous.
