If you decide not to recycle the packaging after it has been used up but to continue using it, always check its condition, the functionality of the dispenser, and the cleanliness of the internal parts, so that the final product is safe and stable throughout the entire period of use.
Yes, the glass bottle with dispenser can be used repeatedly if hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and subsequently disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99 %) or ethanol (Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). After disinfection, allow the bottle and dispenser to dry completely, check the functionality of the mechanism, and only then refill the packaging.
We recommend first rinsing the bottle with a suitable carrier (for example a vegetable oil or hydrolate – depending on the type of the original filling), then washing it with warm water and a mild detergent and rinsing thoroughly. After washing, it is advisable to disinfect the inside of the packaging with alcohol, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. The dispenser must be rinsed in the same way and pressed several times so that the cleaning and disinfecting mixture also passes through the internal channel. Before refilling, the packaging must be completely dry.
Even dosing depends on the viscosity of the product and correct preparation of the packaging. After filling the bottle, we recommend closing the dispenser firmly and pressing it several times so that the system is “primed” and expels excess air. For thicker emulsions or oils, it may be necessary to make the first presses more forceful. Before starting serial production, it is advisable to carry out a compatibility test – testing the behaviour of the dispenser during long-term use, exposure to normal temperatures, and handling, so that you can be sure the chosen packaging is optimal for your specific formulation.
If you decide not to use the packaging repeatedly, we recommend recycling it responsibly in accordance with the information given in the parameter table for the product. The glass part of the bottle can usually be emptied, possibly rinsed free of product residues, and placed in the appropriate glass container. The dispenser and plastic parts should be separated from the bottle and sorted according to the material designation into the relevant type of separated waste, or into mixed waste if local rules do not allow otherwise. Always adapt recycling recommendations to the official instructions of your municipality and to the data in the product parameters on the website.
