The glass roll-on bottle is a practical and elegant packaging solution for precise and hygienic application of liquid formulations. Thanks to the combination of smooth glass and a roll-on system, it is ideal for products that require targeted application in a thin layer without contact with the hands. The glass body ensures good chemical stability of the contents and is suitable for packaging a wide range of cosmetic preparations as well as aromatic blends.
This type of packaging is popular for compact travel sizes, trial samples and finished products where comfortable application, cleanliness and aesthetic design are important. The roll-on mechanism helps to distribute the product evenly over the skin and minimizes excessive consumption of the formulation.
Glass roll-on bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray heads or practical applicators) depending on the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test – verify the sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation, including long-term stability.
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
Fill the bottle slowly, ideally using a funnel or a dosing pipette, and leave a small gap at the neck so that the roll-on ball is not completely submerged. After filling, insert the roll-on insert evenly, press it in firmly and then close with the closure. Before first use, roll the ball over the skin several times so that the system becomes wetted and the product starts to flow smoothly.
The bottle can be reused provided that strict hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, completely empty the packaging, clean it mechanically and then disinfect it, for example with isopropyl alcohol ALK001 or plant-based ethanol ALK002. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely. When changing the type of product (e.g. from a perfume oil to a facial serum), we recommend using a new bottle in order to avoid the fragrance or properties of the formulation being affected by residues of the original contents.
First dismantle the packaging – separate the closure, the roll-on insert and the glass bottle. Remove product residues by rinsing with a suitable solvent (for example, oil is more easily removed with warm water and a mild detergent). Then thoroughly rinse all parts with drinking water. After mechanical cleaning, we recommend disinfection with alcohol, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, followed by natural drying in a clean, dust-free place. Only then is the packaging ready for further use.
If you decide not to use the packaging any longer, we recommend recycling it responsibly. Empty the glass bottle, remove any coarse product residues and place it in the container intended for glass in accordance with local recycling rules. Plastic parts, such as the roll-on insert or the closure, should be sorted separately into the appropriate container for plastics, if the local waste sorting system allows it. By separating the individual materials, you support more efficient recycling and reduce the amount of mixed waste.
The roll-on bottle is primarily designed for low- to medium-viscosity liquids such as light oils, perfume blends or serums. For very viscous oils and gel textures, the flow through the roll-on mechanism may be restricted and the application less smooth. Therefore, before using it in serial production, we recommend performing a trial filling and testing whether the selected formulation passes through the ball evenly and without excessive pressure on the skin.
The simplest way is to use the extended filter in the packaging category. After clicking on the relevant category, a filtering option appears at the top of the page, where you can choose parameters such as neck type, size, colour or packaging material. By combining these filters, you quickly narrow down the selection to bottles, jars or pots that best meet the requirements of your product and your preferred dosing method.
