Yes, the glass bottle with dropper is also suitable for formulations with essential oils, since glass is generally a very stable and resistant packaging material. However, for highly concentrated aromatic compositions we recommend making a trial batch and monitoring the behaviour of the product in the packaging over a longer period (viscosity, change in scent, colour or any deposits), so that you can verify long-term compatibility.

The packaging can be reused if hygienic principles are observed, for example when refilling the same or a similar type of product. Before each new filling, the bottle and dropper must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ideally using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can, for example, use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After applying the alcohol, allow all parts to dry completely so that no moisture or disinfectant residues remain in the packaging.

First dismantle the dropper into its individual parts (pipette, closure, possibly inner seal) and mechanically remove residues of the original product. Then rinse the individual parts with a suitable cleaning agent or alcohol to dissolve oily and sticky components. After cleaning, disinfect the components with alcohol, allow them to dry naturally and check that the pipette opening is clear and that the bulb correctly draws in and releases air. In this way you maintain reliable drop dosing even with repeated use.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend assigning it to the appropriate recycling stream according to the information given in the product parameters for this packaging. The glass container can usually be handed over to sorted glass collection after emptying and basic cleaning, while the plastic or rubber parts of the dropper may belong in mixed waste or in the relevant plastic waste according to local rules.
