Blue Glass Bottle, Gold White Dropper, 100 ml

The blue glass bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a white and gold dropper makes a ready-to-use set for facial serums, oils and tinctures that are dispensed by the drop. The blue glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, which slows the deterioration of vegetable oils, vitamins and other light-sensitive ingredients. With the dropper, you take only as much product as you need for a single use, without your fingers touching the neck or the rest of the contents.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What it is suitable for

• Facial and oil serums – drop dispensing suits products where only a few drops are used per application.
• Vegetable and cosmetic oils – the dark glass slows the oxidation of oils that are kept in the light, for example on a bathroom shelf.
• Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – glass does not absorb fragrances and does not react with concentrated essential oils the way many plastics do.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – an alcohol base does not harm glass and the contents stay free of any taste from the packaging.
• Nail and cuticle oils, hair and beard oils – a small amount exactly where it is needed.

Water-based toners or hydrosols can also be filled into the bottle. However, with thin water-based contents the dropper dispenses faster and the drops are harder to control. A fine mist sprayer is often more suitable for this type of product.

How the set works

The bottle is a medicine bottle with straight walls and an 18/410 neck finish. The dropper consists of a glass tube with a soft silicone bulb and a closure with a gold-coloured aluminium ring. The tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so you can take even the last remainder of the contents without tilting.

To dispense, squeeze the bulb with the tube immersed and release it. After removing the dropper, the contents are released by gradually squeezing the bulb. The dripping speed depends on the viscosity of the product: thicker oils and serums with a thickener form slower, larger drops, while thin contents flow faster.

Filling and capacity

The bottle is intended to be filled up to the nominal volume, that is 100 ml. The total brim-full volume is slightly larger. The difference is a reserve for the dropper tube, which displaces part of the contents towards the neck once screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. A bottle filled to the brim overflows when the dropper is inserted and the tightness of the closure is reduced.

Filling is easiest through a narrow funnel or from a bottle with a dispensing nozzle. For thicker serums, a disposable syringe without a needle has proven useful. After filling, tighten the dropper by hand only, without excessive force, so that the seal in the closure is not deformed.

Good to know

With concentrated essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing how the silicone bulb behaves with your specific formulation, especially for longer storage. Some ingredients may soften or discolour the bulb. The glass packaging itself does not carry this risk.

The set is suitable for repeated use. After emptying, wash the packaging with warm water and washing-up liquid; for oil residues, wiping the inside with alcohol helps. You will find the procedure for cleaning the dropper in the questions below.

The 18/410 neck finish also allows the bottle to be used with other closures with the same neck finish from the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend testing the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

Glass belongs in the glass recycling bin. The dropper consists of several materials and is separated from the bottle before disposal.
