The glass bottle in an elegant glossy black design with a practical safety cap represents a professional packaging solution for cosmetic formulations as well as specialized liquid preparations. The durable glass container is stable, does not absorb fragrances or colorants, and helps protect the contents from external influences during storage and use. Thanks to the dark, opaque execution, the contents are protected from light, which is particularly suitable for products that are sensitive to degradation when exposed to light.
The glass packaging is generally very stable with respect to most common cosmetic ingredients, including oil blends and formulations containing alcohol. For each new product, we recommend performing your own stress test – filling a smaller number of units, monitoring the behaviour of the contents and the sealing of the closure over time and at different storage temperatures.
The packaging can be safely reused if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle needs to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, for example using technical alcohol such as IPA or ethanol. To disinfect packaging, you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After rinsing, let the packaging dry completely and only then fill it again.
First remove the residues of the original product with a suitable detergent and warm water, using a soft brush or bottle brush to also clean the neck and bottom. Then rinse the packaging thoroughly with drinking water, or optionally distilled water, and disinfect it using alcohol (for example IPA or ethanol). After disinfection, allow the bottle to drain and dry completely at room temperature, and only then fill it again with a new formulation.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to local waste sorting rules. In most cases, the glass container can be emptied, cleared of product residues and placed in the container intended for glass. The closure is usually made of plastic or composite materials, so sort it separately according to the material marking in line with the recommendations of your waste management company. We recommend adapting the exact method of sorting to the information stated in the product parameter table for the specific packaging on the Handymade website.
When selecting a suitable bottle or other packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter in the packaging category. This allows you to quickly narrow down the offer to the packaging that best matches your specific formulation and method of dispensing.
Before filling, the packaging should be clean, dry and disinfected in order to minimize microbiological risk and extend the stability of the product. When filling, use suitable tools (funnel, dosing device) to avoid contaminating the neck and thread, which may affect the sealing of the closure. Store the finished product at the recommended temperature, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Dark glass helps protect light-sensitive components, but it does not replace proper storage conditions or the preservative system of the formulation.
