Product description

Glass bottle, shiny black, white dropper cap, 30 ml

Glass bottle, shiny black, white dropper cap, 30 ml is a ready-made set for facial serums, oil elixirs, essential oil blends, tinctures and concentrates applied drop by drop. The opaque black glass protects the contents from light and the dropper dispenses small amounts without spilling. The bottle, dropper and cap share the same neck type, so there is nothing extra to buy or test for fit.

The set is intended for cosmetic products and as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. The food-contact certificate applies only to the glass bottle individually; the dropper and cap do not have it, so the set as a whole is designated for cosmetic use.

Why choose this set

  • Light protection – opaque black glass blocks light from reaching the contents, which matters for oils, vitamins, essential oils and active ingredients prone to oxidation.
  • Precise dosing – the dropper dispenses the contents drop by drop, which is valuable for serums and concentrates used in small amounts.
  • Glass that does not react with the contents – glass does not react with oils, essential oils or alcohol-based extracts, making it suitable for contents that would degrade certain plastics.
  • Ready-made combination – the bottle, dropper and cap are matched to the same neck type and seal without any additional testing.
  • Elegant appearance – the shiny black bottle with white cap looks good even without further customisation and lets the label stand out.

How the set works

The dropper is inserted into the bottle neck and the cap holds it in place from above and seals it. When the cap is unscrewed, the dropper stays in the neck. There is no need to squeeze the bottle — simply tilt it and the contents flow through the dropper drop by drop. The long dropper format is designed for glass vials with this neck type.

The dispensing speed depends on the viscosity of the contents. Thick oils drip more slowly, thin serums more quickly. Verify the number of drops per dose with your specific formulation so you can correctly advise your customers on dosage.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for in normal filling, and this is the figure shown on the label. Total brim volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dropper, which displaces some of the contents when inserted, and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, never to the brim, otherwise the contents will overflow when the dropper is pushed in. Exact values for both volumes are listed in the specifications.

Good to know

Before first use, it is recommended to wash and sanitise the bottle with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow it to dry completely. The same applies to the dropper and cap, which must not retain any moisture. The set can be reused after thorough cleaning. With the plastic dropper, however, check that no residue from the previous contents remains, particularly after essential oils.

The dropper is made from polypropylene and the cap from polyethylene. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils, solvents or alcohol, we recommend monitoring the dropper's behaviour over time, as some components may gradually soften or discolour the plastic. Glass is resistant to these substances.

Glass does not cope well with sudden temperature changes. Do not fill the bottle with hot contents and do not move it directly from cold to warm conditions. The label adheres to the cylindrical section of the bottle.

Black glass does not allow you to see the fill level or any changes in appearance. The remaining amount can only be estimated by weight, so for products where the customer needs to see the contents, consider a clear or amber bottle.

The bottle is made of glass, the dropper and cap of plastic. When recycling, the plastic parts are separated from the glass and each material is sorted separately.

Frequently asked questions

Does a black glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, shiny black glass is opaque and does not let light reach the contents. It is a suitable choice for oils, vitamin serums and essential oil blends that lose efficacy or change scent when exposed to light. The drawback of opaque glass is that neither the contents nor the remaining amount is visible, so consider whether this suits your product.
How much can actually be filled into a dropper bottle?
Fill to the nominal volume of 30 ml, not to the brim. The total brim volume is larger; the difference is a reserve for the dropper, which displaces some of the contents when inserted, and for expansion in warm conditions. If you overfill the bottle, the contents will overflow through the neck when the dropper is pushed in and contaminate the thread, impairing the seal.
Is a glass dropper bottle suitable for essential oils?
The glass bottle yes; for the dropper we recommend testing. Glass does not react with essential oils, but the polypropylene dropper may soften or change colour with prolonged contact with concentrated essential oils. With diluted blends and serums containing a lower proportion of essential oils this behaviour is less likely; with pure oils, carry out a time-based test.
Can the dropper set be used for food products?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for food contact. The food-contact certificate applies only to the glass bottle individually; the dropper and cap are declared for cosmetic use. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products such as serums, oils and skin tinctures.
How to prepare a dropper bottle before first filling?
Wash the bottle, dropper and cap, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. It is important that no water remains in the dropper or under the cap, as it could contaminate an oil-based product or disrupt the preservation of a water-based serum. Once dry, fill to the nominal volume and insert the dropper only afterwards.
