Product description
The green glass bottle with a white dropper is a ready-made set for filling with serums, facial oils and oil blends that are dispensed drop by drop. Green glass lets through less light than clear glass, so light-sensitive contents are better protected, while the fill level remains visible. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
The dropper consists of a glass tube, a silicone bulb and a white plastic collar with a tamper-evident ring, which separates the first time the dropper is unscrewed. The customer can therefore see that nobody has opened the packaging before them. For makers who sell their products, it replaces protective films and stickers.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial and body oils – the dropper dispenses precisely and the oil does not spill over the neck or around the closure.
- Water-based and oil-based serums – glass does not react with the contents, and the green tint helps protect sensitive active ingredients.
- Essential oil blends in a carrier oil – massage and aromatherapy blends that are measured out drop by drop.
- Herbal macerated oils – home production where protection from light matters.
- Samples and smaller batches – you can test a formulation before bottling it in larger quantities.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is intended for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper, which pushes part of the contents upwards when screwed in, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume. A bottle filled to the brim will overflow through the neck when the dropper is fitted.
With thicker oils, such as castor oil, or with viscous oil serums, check before a larger production run that the bulb refills quickly enough after squeezing and that the drops separate properly.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the dropper, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. The glass withstands hot water; wash the dropper separately and do not expose the bulb to high temperatures. After thorough cleaning, the set can be reused. The tamper-evident ring no longer serves its purpose after the first opening, but this does not change the tightness of the closure.
The declaration of conformity for cosmetic use is provided with the product. Suitability for contact with food is not declared for this set, so use it only for cosmetic preparations.
The length of the dropper is matched to the height of the bottle, so you can use up the contents almost completely. You will find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.
Do not leave undiluted essential oils in long-term contact with the silicone bulb. With concentrated blends, observe how the dropper behaves for several weeks before you use the set for the whole batch.
The glass bottle belongs in glass recycling. Before recycling, unscrew and separate the dropper, as it combines plastic, silicone and glass.
