The set of a green glass bottle with a capacity of 50 ml and a white pump with a long nozzle is designed for cosmetic products that are applied precisely to a smaller area. The long nozzle directs the contents in a narrow stream exactly where it is aimed: through the hair to the scalp, to the roots, to specific spots on the body or into folds that a standard sprayer reaches only with difficulty. The green glass also lets you see how much product remains in the bottle.

What it is suitable for

• Hair tonics and scalp serums – water-based or alcohol-based products intended for the roots. The long nozzle reaches through the hair to the scalp and the lengths of the hair stay dry.
• Tonics and water-based active solutions for targeted spots on the face or body, where a wide mist would also cover the surrounding area.
• Alcohol-based solutions and hydrolates for local application, for example refreshing or cooling products for smaller areas.
• Samples and travel-size packs of liquid products.

The pump works best with thin, watery contents. Thick serums, emulsions and pure vegetable oils are dispensed poorly or not at all through the fine nozzle. For oil and alcohol blends and for products with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking the behaviour of the pump and the plastic parts with your specific formulation.

How the pump works

The pump screws onto the neck of a bottle with an 18/410 neck finish and draws up the contents through a tube from the bottom. One press releases a small dose of approximately 0.1 ml, so even active solutions are dispensed precisely and without overflowing. Before first use, press the pump several times to prime it until the tube fills and the dose stabilises.

Filling and capacity

The nominal capacity of 50 ml is the volume the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck and is given in the product parameters. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the body of the pump, which push part of the contents upwards when screwed on, and for the expansion of the liquid when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill the bottle to the nominal capacity, not to the brim. If the bottle is filled up to the neck, the contents will overflow through the thread when the pump is fitted and the closure may not seal.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. It is enough to rinse the pump with clean water or alcohol and press it several times to flush out the tube and the nozzle.

Glass does not transfer fragrance or colour between fillings, and the bottle can be reused after washing. The pump is made of polypropylene; if you reuse it, rinse it and leave it to dry. If the previous filling has dried in the nozzle, briefly soaking the nozzle in warm water and pressing the pump repeatedly will help.

For disposal, separate the glass from the plastic pump. The bottle belongs in glass waste, the pump in plastic waste.
