FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this glass bottle with spray pump be reused?

Yes, the packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each refilling, the bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination. For disinfection, we recommend using for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, which you can find in the Handymade range – for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. After rinsing and disinfection, allow all parts to dry completely and only then refill them.

How should the bottle and spray pump be properly cleaned before further use?

First rinse the bottle with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent and remove all residues of the previous product. Then rinse it several times with clean water and disinfect it with a suitable alcohol (for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný). We recommend flushing the spray pump with a small amount of alcohol which you “spray through” several times so that the internal capillary is cleaned. After cleaning, leave all parts to dry at room temperature in a clean place.

For which types of products is this packaging with spray pump most suitable?

In practice, it is used primarily for facial and body sprays, floral waters, hair tonics, perfume and room sprays, disinfectant solutions or aromatherapeutic blends. How can I dispose of and recycle this bottle in an eco-friendly way once it has reached the end of its life?

If you decide not to use the packaging any longer, we recommend first emptying it and, if possible, removing product residues by rinsing. The glass body of the bottle should normally be placed in a container intended for glass recycling according to local collection rules. The plastic parts of the spray pump (head, dip tube and possibly the overcap) are sorted according to the plastic type indicated in the parameter table for the specific product on the Handymade website. Always follow the local waste separation system and the recommendations provided for the product so that recycling is as effective as possible.
