Product description

A glass vial bottle with a throat spray is a complete set for small volumes of cosmetic preparations applied precisely and in measured doses. Amber glass protects the contents from light, and the long narrow nozzle of the dispenser directs a fine mist exactly where it is needed. The set with a nominal volume of 15 ml is particularly suitable for oral sprays and breath fresheners, targeted toning or soothing sprays, and for samples or travel-sized liquid preparations.

The bottle and dispenser are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set as a whole is not approved for food contact, so it is not suitable for food supplements, syrups or herbal sprays intended for internal use as a food.

What the set is suitable for

  • Oral sprays and breath fresheners – cosmetic preparations for oral care containing menthol, essential oils or herbal extracts, where a small and repeatable dose is essential.
  • Targeted face and body sprays – toner for small problem areas, soothing after-shave or post-epilation spray, scalp preparations applied between the hair directly onto the skin.
  • Hand and nail sprays – alcohol-based or water-based preparations that should remain on a small area and not be dispersed into the surroundings.
  • Samples and travel-sized packaging – the small volume and glass that does not react with the contents make the set a practical packaging option for samples or for travel.

How to use the set

The dispenser works as a mechanical pump with an extended nozzle. The tube draws the contents from the bottom of the bottle, and each press forces it through the nozzle in a fine mist. A single dose is approximately 0.1 ml, so the amount per use is easy to measure and the contents will not spill even with an awkward movement. After filling, press the pump several times without product until the tube fills and the dispenser begins to spray evenly.

The mechanism is designed for thin liquid contents: aqueous solutions, hydrolates, alcohol-based preparations and solutions with a solubilised essential oil. We recommend verifying the suitability of a specific formulation on a test unit before filling a larger batch.

Thicker preparations, gels and pure oils cannot be dispersed by the nozzle, and the pump may clog. Fill the throat spray only with thin liquids.

The dispenser tube is longer than the height of the bottle so that it can also be used with taller containers. Before first assembly, shorten it so that it reaches just above the bottom, and cut the end at an angle. The dispenser will then draw the contents to the last drop and the tube will not kink when screwing on.

Good to know

Nominal and total volume. The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for in standard filling. The total volume to the brim is slightly larger, and the difference provides a reserve for the dispenser body with the tube and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Protection of contents from light. Amber glass reduces light penetration, which helps maintain the stability of preparations containing essential oils, plant extracts or light-sensitive vitamins. Glass also does not react with alcohol or essential oils, making it suitable for preparations with a higher alcohol content.

Dispenser material. The body, tube and nozzle are made of polypropylene, which is resistant to water, alcohol and common cosmetic ingredients. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend testing in advance whether the dispenser changes its behaviour over time.

Recycling. Before disposal, separate the glass from the plastic dispenser, as they belong to different collection streams.

Other combinations. Caps, sprayers and droppers with the same neck type as stated in the parameters, as well as other ready-made combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. With your own combination, always verify the seal, dosing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the glass bottle with throat spray suitable for food or food supplements?
No, this set is not approved for food contact. The bottle and dispenser are declared suitable for cosmetic products, not for food. It is therefore suitable for oral sprays and breath fresheners, which are classified as cosmetic preparations, but not for syrups, food supplements or herbal preparations intended for consumption.
What contents can a throat spray dispenser atomise?
The dispenser atomises thin liquid contents such as aqueous solutions, hydrolates and alcohol-based preparations. Oils, gels and thicker emulsions cannot be dispersed by the nozzle and the mechanism may clog. Essential oils in an aqueous base must be solubilised in advance; otherwise they will separate in the nozzle and dosing will be uneven. Test a new formulation on one unit first.
Why is the bottle with the dispenser filled only to the nominal volume?
Because the dispenser body and tube take up part of the internal space of the bottle once screwed on. The total volume to the brim is larger than the nominal volume by exactly this reserve and by the space for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the contents will overflow when the dispenser is fitted and the neck will remain contaminated.
How is a glass bottle with a throat spray prepared before first filling?
The glass is washed, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely. The dispenser is rinsed with clean water or diluted alcohol and left to drain. It is advisable to shorten the tube so that it reaches just above the bottom of the bottle, and to cut the end at an angle so that it does not press against the bottom when screwed on and does not kink.
Can a throat spray dispenser be reused for a different formulation?
Yes, but only after thorough cleaning. Residues of the previous contents remain in the tube, the pump and the nozzle, so the dispenser should be flushed several times with clean water or diluted alcohol and left to dry. The bottle just needs to be washed and disinfected. With a significant change in fragrance or for preparations containing colourants, it is more reliable to use a new dispenser and keep only the cleaned bottle.
