The complete set of a 50 ml glass vial with a white throat spray dispenser delivers a small, measured amount of liquid precisely where a regular atomiser cannot reach – into the oral cavity, onto the scalp between strands, behind the ears, or onto small areas of the face and body. The set is therefore suitable for oral breath-freshening sprays, scalp hair tonics, targeted facial treatments, and other thin cosmetic products where accurate targeting and a small dose matter.

Brown glass protects the contents from light, which is particularly appreciated with formulations containing essential oils, plant extracts, vitamins, or other components sensitive to oxidation. Glass does not absorb the scent or colour of the contents and can be washed and disinfected repeatedly. Both the vial and the dispenser are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

Filling and correct dosing

When filling, follow the nominal volume, not the brim capacity. The nominal volume is the amount for which the vial is intended under normal filling conditions. The total brim-full volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the tube and the internal part of the dispenser, which displace some volume when screwed on, and for any expansion of the contents with temperature changes. If you fill the vial to the brim, the contents will overflow when the dispenser is fitted.

The dispenser works best with thin, aqueous or alcohol-based liquids. Thicker formulations (gels, richer emulsions, undiluted oils) pass through the tube slowly, the dose tends to be imprecise, and the mechanism may clog. We therefore recommend developing the formulation so that it remains liquid even after cooling and storage.

Before first use, check that the dispenser seals properly after tightening and that the contents do not leak when the vial is laid on its side. When combining the vial with a different closure or dispenser with the same neck type, always verify the seal, dosing, and packaging behaviour with your specific formulation. Suitable for products such as

• Oral breath-freshening sprays – aqueous or mildly alcoholic formulations with menthol, xylitol or essential oils, where a small dose and targeted application into the mouth are required.
• Scalp tonics – thin formulations with plant extracts or caffeine, applied directly to the scalp between hair strands.
• Targeted facial sprays – light tonics and aqueous serums for selected areas, where you want to apply the product precisely and without waste.
• Sprays for small body areas – refreshing hydrolat or alcohol-based formulations for behind the ears, the neck, wrists, or feet.
• Alcoholic formulations with active ingredients – thin solutions where a measured dose helps maintain consistent application each time.

For anhydrous oil serums this set is not a suitable choice. Oils slow the dispenser down and are applied unevenly; dropper bottles are more suitable for oils.

What's good to know

Before the first filling, wash both the vial and the dispenser, rinse with a disinfecting solution (isopropyl alcohol or ethanol), and allow to dry completely. Disinfect the dispenser by pumping the solution through the tube as well; otherwise water will remain in the mechanism. When reusing, repeat the procedure and always check whether the dispenser mechanism is becoming clogged with residues from the previous contents.

Contact with food. A certification for direct contact with food applies to the glass vial alone. The dispenser does not hold this certification, so the complete set is not intended for food-grade contents and is declared for cosmetic use. If you need packaging for food purposes, use a vial with a closure that has food suitability explicitly stated in the parameters.

Material and contents. The polypropylene of the dispenser tolerates standard aqueous and alcoholic formulations well. With concentrated essential oils, solvents, or a high proportion of alcohol, we recommend checking the dispenser's behaviour in the specific formulation, particularly the flexibility of the seal and the smoothness of operation after several weeks.

Labelling and recycling. The cylindrical shape of the vial allows a wrap-around label to be applied. At end of life, the glass vial belongs in the glass waste stream and the plastic dispenser, once unscrewed, in the plastics stream.
