The glass bottle is a professional packaging solution designed for precise dosing and safe storage of both cosmetic and technical formulations. High-quality glass, combined with a suitable closure, creates a reliable barrier against external influences and helps protect the stability of the components throughout the entire shelf life of the product. Dark glass also reduces light penetration, which is an advantage for sensitive components such as certain oils, extracts or active substances.
Glass bottles are compatible with various types of closures and dosing systems (for example screw caps, droppers, spray pumps or practical applicators) according to the selected parameters. Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass packaging is generally suitable for most oil-based and water-based cosmetic formulations, provided that the closures or dispensers are correctly selected and compatibility with the specific product has been verified. Before final implementation, we recommend performing a trial filling to check the behaviour of the contents over time, the sealing of the cap and the comfort during dosing.
The glass packaging can be safely reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly washed, cleaned and disinfected, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. This will prevent transfer of residues from the previous product, microbial growth and any impact on the stability of the new formulation.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste-sorting regulations and the instructions given for the product in the parameter table. The glass bottle can usually be emptied, or rinsed free of product residues, and sorted into the appropriate glass container, while the closure must be sorted according to the material specified in the parameters. Before disposal, check that the packaging does not contain residues of chemically aggressive substances and follow the recommendations of the raw material manufacturers.
When choosing a closure, start from the type of product and the desired dosing method. For precise dosing of drops, droppers are suitable, for smaller volumes of perfumes or toners, spray pumps are appropriate, and for classic storage, screw caps are suitable. On the product page you will find recommended combinations of packaging and accessories that have been tested as functional on Handymade. Nevertheless, we recommend carrying out your own test – verify sealing, dosing and stability of the contents during prolonged storage.

This allows you to quickly select a bottle, jar or pot that meets both the technical requirements and the design of your product.
