Plastic bottle with smooth cap and reducer is a practical packaging, suitable especially for liquid products where controlled dosing and convenient handling are important. Thanks to the design with a reducer, it helps to limit unwanted spilling, reduces product losses and contributes to cleaner work during filling as well as use. Such a bottle is suitable for packing various cosmetic and craft formulations where a combination of functionality, reliable closure and an aesthetic appearance of the packaging is required.
The bottle can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are followed; however, we always recommend cleaning it thoroughly and disinfecting it before each new filling. It is suitable first to wash the packaging mechanically (using a mild detergent according to the type of contents), then rinse it thoroughly and afterwards disinfect it using alcohol – for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. After disinfection, it is necessary to let the packaging dry completely in a clean place in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination during further use.
Plastic packaging intended for cosmetic and craft use is generally not designed for long-term exposure to high temperatures. When exposed to heat, gradual deformation of the packaging, deterioration of sealing or changes in the mechanical properties of the material may occur. Therefore, we do not recommend washing the bottle in a dishwasher or boiling it. For cleaning, it is suitable to use lukewarm water, a mild cleaning agent and subsequent disinfection with alcohol, while it is important to avoid temperatures that could visibly soften or deform the material.
Before first use, we recommend rinsing the packaging mechanically, removing any dust from production or storage and then disinfecting it. The procedure can be as follows: first rinse the bottle with clean water, use a mild detergent if necessary and rinse well. Then apply disinfecting alcohol – isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol works very well. Let the alcohol evaporate and store the packaging in a clean, dry and protected place until filling. The same procedure is suitable to repeat also for repeated use between individual fillings.
If you decide not to continue using the packaging, we recommend disposing of it in accordance with local waste-sorting rules according to the material specified in the product parameters on the website. Before throwing it away, it is suitable to empty the bottle and, if necessary, rinse out any remaining contents in order to minimise the load on waste management systems. Then place the packaging in the appropriate container for sorted waste according to the type of plastic and the recycling symbol indicated in the product parameters. In the case of a combination of several materials (for example a different material of the closure or seal), it is ideal to separate the individual parts and sort them separately, if the design allows this.
If you are looking for the ideal packaging for a specific product, we recommend using the advanced filter in the packaging material categories. After clicking on the relevant category (for example bottles, jars or vials), you will find the filter at the top of the page. Using it, you can conveniently narrow down the results according to several parameters – for example according to neck type, size, colour or packaging material. This will help you find more quickly a bottle or jar that will correspond to your formulation, the desired dosing method and the visual style of the brand.
When choosing a closure or dispenser, it is important to check the compatibility in several areas. First of all, the neck type and diameter specified in the product parameters must match. Furthermore, it is necessary to take into account the viscosity and character of the formulation – liquid waters and toners require a different type of dosing than thick serums or oil blends. In the offer you will find screw caps, droppers, sprayers and various applicators, and the combinations created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. Nevertheless, we always recommend performing your own test with the real product so that you can verify the sealing, dosing functionality, return of elastic parts and long-term behaviour in contact with your specific formula.
