HYALURONIC SERUM WITH PRESERVATIVE

Today our customer inspired us and we decided to bring you a recipe for hyaluronic serum. Her specific question was what preservative to use in her recipe. And we're very happy to see that the natural cosmetics world is starting to talk more about natural preservatives. Because there is a lot of preconceived notions in this area, and there's really nothing to worry about, quite the opposite. You can worry about your skin if you make a product at home from purely natural ingredients, which, over time, under the influence of time, heat and the presence of oxygen, start to work and naturally form bacteria and mould. Preservative right away does not mean something artificial/synthetic. There are natural extracts that cause "ripening" to slow down so your natural product retains its original properties.

But let's get to the hyaluronic acid itself. Since we recently wrote that the most effective choice is a combination of lmw (low molecular weight hyaluronic acid) and hmw (high molecular weight hyaluronic acid), it is best to use a combination of lmw (low molecular weight hyaluronic acid) and hmw (high molecular weight hyaluronic acid). Hyaluronic acid), because each acts on a different layer of the skin, we bring you a recipe where both are used in equal proportions, thus the best properties of both types will be used in the serum. Another advantage of using both is that High Molecular Hyaluronic Acid forms a thicker gel in an aqueous environment, so no thickener is needed in this recipe.

The ratio of ingredients in the recipe is set to a 10 ml bottle:
0.3g glycerine
0.02g low molecular weight hyaluronic acid
0.02g high molecular weight hyaluronic acid
0.16g D-Panthenol
0.1g Cosgard preservative
1g collagen
8.4g demineralised water
------------------------------------------------------------------
So the formula is in the same numbers:
0.3% glycerin
0.02% low molecular weight hyaluronic acid
0.02% high molecular weight hyaluronic acid
0.16% D-Panthenol
0.1% Cosgard preservative
1% Collagen
84% demineralised water

PROCEDURE:

1. Mix the powders with glycerin - it may take a while for the mixture to come together.
2. Gradually mix in the other ingredients (collagen and D-panthenol are optional ingredients that can be omitted and the proportion of water added or substituted with vitaminhowever, keep in mind that this is a serum to be applied around the eyes and choose the ingredients accordingly)
3. Finally, mix in water, which can also be combined in a given quantity with, for example, floral waters, again, of course, those that do not irritate the sensitive eye area.
4. As this is a water-based mixture, the serum needs to be preserved, which is why we use Cosgard in the recipe (this preservative can be substituted for another, but the pH and the scale of use must be taken into account).

When to apply the serum to the skin?

Ideally twice a day, in the evening and in the morning after thoroughly washing your face

Is a preservative really necessary?

yes, there is! Because this is a water-based product, it is very important to protect your product from microbial growth. This is often almost invisible to the naked eye. The consequences of using such contaminated products are very unpleasant. There is a very good range of natural preservatives on the market today, also at affordable prices. The serum will last in the fridge for up to a week. During this time you do not have the opportunity to spend it. And when you consider how much hyaluronic acid costs and also the time you devote to production (the serum needs to be applied for several months to achieve the desired results), it really is economical and efficient to throw away the leftovers after a week and make a new batch every week and basically on borderline days at the end of the week, risk microbial contamination already?

So how long does the product last with the use of a preservative?

It all depends on what preservative you choose, what quantity you use and whether the other ingredients are also contaminated. There are also testers that can easily measure these parameters.
Anyway, this mixture should last you up to 3 months

In the case of purely natural products, making smaller quantities and more frequently is the way to go

We will be covering the subject of preservatives
