The glass jar with a clear body and black lid is a universal packaging solution suitable for careful and aesthetic filling of creams, butters, balms, ointments or other thicker cosmetic preparations. Thanks to the stable glass and high-quality closure, it helps maintain the consistency, fragrance and quality of the contents during regular use as well as storage. The glass jar is suitable for packing products where a professional appearance, material purity and good protection against external influences are important.
Combinations of containers and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
The glass jar is suitable for small and medium batches of cosmetic products – from home-made recipes to professional products intended for sale. The sturdy glass, high-quality closure and clear shape allow convenient filling, labelling and use in salon or retail practice. For professional use, we recommend adhering to internal hygiene and manufacturing standards so that the final product is safe and stable throughout the entire declared shelf life.
The packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed, for example when testing new recipes or refilling the same type of product. Before each new filling, the jar must be thoroughly cleaned of residues of the original contents and then disinfected with a suitable agent – we recommend, for example, isopropyl alcohol IPA 99 % or plant-based ethanol Ethanol 96 %. Only after it is completely dry is the packaging ready to be filled again. When switching to a different type of product (for example from an oily to an aqueous one), it is important to pay increased attention to cleaning so that the fragrance, colour or stability of the new formulation is not affected.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly. First mechanically remove any product residues, or rinse out a small amount of the contents so that no thick deposits remain in the container. The glass jar is then, according to the general rules of waste separation, placed in the container designated for glass. The plastic lid (if removable) should be separated and sorted into the container designated for plastics, unless local rules state otherwise. Recycling icons and recommendations can be found in the parameters section of the specific product on Handymade, and it is advisable to follow them in line with the local waste sorting system.
To protect the contents, it is recommended to work in a clean environment, minimise contact with the open product during filling and, for formulations sensitive to microbial contamination, use appropriate preservation systems. You can recommend to customers that they do not use their fingers for application, but a clean spatula or scoop, which reduces the risk of introducing impurities. It is also important to state the recommended storage method (for example away from direct sunlight and heat sources) and the period after opening within which the product should be used, depending on the type of formula and the preservatives added.
To select suitable packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter, which is available at the top of the page after clicking on a specific packaging category. In the advanced filter you can clearly narrow down the offer according to several parameters – for example by type of neck, overall size, colour or packaging material. This allows you to quickly find bottles, jars or medicine bottles that best match the volume, design and functional requirements of your product. When choosing, always also take into account the consistency and method of dosing so that the packaging is convenient for the end customer to use.
