Product description

Macadamia oil, cold-pressed, ORGANIC, deodorized is a vegetable oil obtained from the seeds (nuts) of the tree Macadamia integrifolia. The production is based on mechanical cold pressing, which preserves the natural lipid profile of the oil. It subsequently undergoes gentle deodorization – a physical process aimed at reducing or removing the natural aroma of the oil without classic chemical refining. The result is an oil with a more neutral scent, particularly suitable for formulations where you do not want to affect the final fragrance, while still preserving the character of a cold-pressed oil.

ORGANIC quality indicates that the raw material comes from organic farming. In cosmetics, the oil is popular for its comfortable sensorial properties similar to natural skin sebum, good spreadability and versatile use in facial, body and hair products.

Active substances and natural components

• Fatty acids typical for macadamia: a high content of monounsaturated fatty acids including palmitoleic acid (omega-7), which is structurally close to the lipids naturally present in the skin.
• Minor components: in cold-pressed oils, tocopherols and other lipid fractions may naturally occur; deodorization may slightly reduce their amount.
• Natural protective factor: in the professional literature, macadamia oil is reported to have a low SPF of approximately 3–4; this is not a replacement for sunscreen products.

Use in formulation

• Recommended dosage: in practice, around 1–10% is commonly used in emulsions and 5–100% in oil-based products, depending on the type of formulation.
• Miscible with most vegetable oils, butters and emollients.
• Compatible with common emulsifiers used in natural and professional cosmetics.
• Insoluble in water – belongs to the oil phase.
• It is recommended to add it during the cooling phase (at a temperature below 40 °C), especially in emulsions and products with sensitive active ingredients.
• Tip: for oil serums and water-free products, consider adding an antioxidant (e.g. tocopherol or rosemary CO2 extract).

Safety and storage

• For external use only; avoid contact with the eyes.
• Before first use, we recommend a patch test on a small area of skin.
• In individuals with increased sensitivity to nuts, we recommend increased caution.
• Store well closed, in a dry and dark place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
