The glass bottle is commonly used for oil-based and alcoholic formulations because glass is materially stable and at standard concentrations does not react with the contents. However, we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test with the specific formula, especially in the case of a high concentration of active substances or specific solvents, to verify the suitability of the packaging for your product.
Yes, the packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle must be thoroughly cleaned, the condition of the closure checked, and then it must be disinfected with a suitable agent, for example with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. This minimizes the risk of microbial contamination and cross-contamination between individual products.
Before re-use, first rinse the bottle with a suitable solvent according to the type of previous contents (for example with a vegetable oil for oil-based blends, then with a mild cleaning agent and water). After thorough washing, rinse the packaging with clean water and allow it to dry completely. In the final step, the inner and outer parts must be disinfected with alcohol, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and then left to air so that the alcohol can evaporate. Packaging prepared in this way is suitable for further use.
If you decide not to re-use the packaging, we recommend disposing of it according to the type of material stated in the product parameters. The glass body of the bottle is normally placed in the container intended for glass, and it is advisable to remove any remaining contents. The aluminum cap must be sorted into the appropriate container for metals or according to local rules for the collection of metal packaging. Before recycling, it is advisable to at least roughly rinse the packaging to minimize product residues in the sorted waste.
