Can this plastic jar be reused for new cosmetic products?

The jar can be reused if strict hygiene rules are observed. Before each new filling, the container and the lid must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcoholic preparation, for example with isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol) or plant-based ethanol (Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based). This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and extends the safe usability of your products.

How should I properly clean the jar before first use or refilling?

Before both first and repeated use, we recommend first washing the jar with lukewarm water and a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing thoroughly and allowing it to dry. Then it is advisable to disinfect with alcohol the surfaces that come into contact with the contents – for example using IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. Always carry out disinfection on a clean, dry surface and let the alcohol evaporate before filling the product.

Is this plastic jar suitable for liquid products, or rather for thicker preparations?

Due to its construction, the jar is ideal mainly for thicker and semi-solid products such as creams, balms, butters, ointments, masks or scrubs. Liquid preparations can be filled into the jar only if their consistency and the way they are used do not require precise dosing or an applicator. For very thin liquids, we recommend considering the use of bottles with a dispenser or dropper, which you can find in the relevant packaging categories on Handymade.sk.

How can I dispose of or recycle this packaging in an environmentally friendly way if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the jar any longer, we recommend first emptying it completely and removing any product residues. Then dispose of it according to the recycling recommendations given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website – there you will find information on the type of plastic material and the recommended fraction of sorted waste. In general, a clean plastic container should be placed in the appropriate container for separated collection, thereby supporting its recycling and reducing the amount of waste.
