FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is it possible to use this plastic bottle with sprayer repeatedly?

The packaging can be used repeatedly, provided that you follow basic hygiene principles and take into account the requirements of your formulation. Before each new filling it is important to thoroughly clean the bottle and the sprayer and subsequently disinfect them, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For this purpose you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after the packaging has completely dried and aired is it suitable to refill the container.

How should I correctly clean and disinfect this bottle before further use?

First we recommend rinsing the bottle and the sprayer with cold or lukewarm water, or with a mild soapy solution, in order to remove residues of the original product. Then treat the inner walls and the thread of the packaging with disinfectant alcohol, for example with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. You can leave the disinfectant solution to act briefly and then allow the packaging to air-dry. After the alcohol has completely evaporated and all parts have dried, the bottle is ready for new, hygienic filling.

Is this plastic packaging suitable for use at higher temperatures or for boiling?

The plastic bottle with sprayer is designed for normal use under standard room conditions. Do not expose it to high temperatures, do not boil it and do not wash it in a dishwasher, because this may lead to deformation of the packaging, deterioration of the sealing or damage to the spray mechanism. For cleaning and disinfection we recommend proceeding gently, at lukewarm temperatures and using suitable disinfectant alcohols.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle the bottle after it has been used up?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend sorting it according to the material type stated in the product parameters on the Handymade website. Before disposal, it is advisable to empty the container and the sprayer, remove any product residues and, where possible, separate the individual parts (bottle, closure, possibly dip tube). Then place the plastic components in the appropriate container for sorted waste according to local collection rules. By following the recommended sorting you support efficient material recycling and a reduction in the amount of waste.
