FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this plastic bottle be used repeatedly?

Yes, the bottle can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and subsequently disinfected with a suitable agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection we recommend using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination as well as the influence on the stability of the new filling by residues of the previous product.

How should this bottle be properly cleaned and disinfected before reuse?

First rinse the bottle with a suitable cleaning solution (for example warm water with a mild surfactant) and rinse thoroughly so that no residues of the original product or the cleaning agent remain. We then recommend spraying or rinsing the inner and outer surfaces of the packaging, including the cap and reducer, with a disinfectant alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry thoroughly at room temperature in a clean, dust-protected place.

Is this plastic packaging suitable for exposure to higher temperatures or for washing in a dishwasher?

Plastic packaging made of PET-type material or related plastics is not intended for exposure to high temperatures. Contact with hot water, steam or the drying cycle in a dishwasher may lead to deformation, deterioration of sealing or a change in mechanical properties. We therefore do not recommend washing the packaging in a dishwasher, boiling it or exposing it to a direct heat source. For gentle cleaning, lukewarm water with a mild cleaning agent and subsequent disinfection with alcohol is sufficient.

How can I dispose of or recycle this bottle in an environmentally friendly way if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend first emptying it and disposing of any product residues according to the nature of the filling. It is then appropriate to recycle the bottle and the cap in accordance with the recommendations given in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website, where you will find information on the type of material and the relevant waste-sorting category. In most cases, plastic packaging is placed in the plastic container, but always follow the specific material marking and local waste-sorting rules.
