FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Is this plastic bottle suitable for repeated use?

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling we recommend thoroughly cleaning the bottle and the spray mechanism and then disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and degradation of your formulations.

How should the sprayer be properly cleaned and disinfected so that the dosing functionality is not impaired?

Before cleaning, disassemble the bottle and sprayer into individual parts, if the construction allows it. Rinse the inner walls of the container with water and then disinfect it with alcohol. It is advisable to spray a small amount of alcohol through the spray head several times in order to clean the internal capillary and nozzle. Do not use high temperatures or aggressive cleaning agents that could damage the plastic components or seals.

Is the plastic material of this bottle suitable for exposure to high temperatures or for washing in a dishwasher?

This type of plastic packaging is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. In contact with hot water, during boiling or when washed in a dishwasher, unwanted deformation, weakening of the walls or deterioration of the sprayer’s sealing may occur. Therefore, for cleaning use only lukewarm water, a mild detergent and subsequent disinfection with alcohol, without heat sterilisation.

How should this packaging be properly recycled if I do not want to continue using it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it according to the material type stated in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website. Before putting it into sorted waste, remove any product residues and, if necessary, separate the bottle and the spray head if they are made from different types of plastic. Then place the container in the appropriate plastics bin according to local collection rules. By recycling correctly you reduce the amount of waste and support the reuse of raw materials.
