FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Is it possible to use this plastic bottle repeatedly?

Yes, the container can be used repeatedly for normal home and hobby use, provided that basic hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the bottle thoroughly and then disinfect it, for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, let the packaging dry completely and only then fill it again. In case of visible wear, damage or deterioration of appearance, we recommend discarding the bottle and recycling it.

How should the plastic bottle be properly cleaned before a new filling?

First rinse the bottle with warm water and a mild cleansing agent suitable for contact with cosmetic packaging. Then rinse it thoroughly with clean water so that no residues of the cleansing agent remain. Afterwards, we recommend disinfecting the inner surface as well as the cap – use either IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After applying the disinfectant, let the container air-dry at room temperature, without using hot air or boiling.

What about the heat resistance of the plastic packaging and what should be taken into account?

Plastic packaging of this type is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. It is not recommended to heat it, boil it or wash it in a dishwasher, because when exposed to hot water or hot air, deformation of the packaging and deterioration of the closure sealing can occur. Fill the bottle only after the formulation has cooled slightly to a suitable temperature and avoid long-term storage in direct sunlight, in a car or near heat sources.

How can this bottle be disposed of or recycled in an environmentally friendly way if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the container any more, we recommend cleaning it from any residual contents and then placing it in sorted waste according to the type of plastic material specified in the product parameters on the website. After separating the cap and any other components, put the bottle into the appropriate plastic container. Always follow local waste-sorting rules and the recommendations given for the specific product on Handymade.sk so that recycling is as effective as possible.
