Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
For a new formulation, we recommend checking whether the chosen density, viscosity and surface tension of the preparation will allow the desired foam to be created and whether clogging of the dosing mechanism does not occur.

FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

How can I ensure that the sprayer creates a high-quality and stable foam?

The firmness and quality of the foam depend on a correctly chosen formulation – ideally you should work with low- to medium-viscosity surfactant blends and leave sufficient space for air in the container, which mixes with the solution when the mechanism is pressed. With excessively thick gels or a high proportion of the oil phase, the foam may be uneven or the functionality of the foamer may be reduced. We recommend always testing a small trial amount of the product directly in the packaging and, if necessary, adjusting the viscosity or the proportion of surfactants.

Is this packaging suitable for repeated use for home cosmetic production?

The packaging can be reused if proper hygiene principles are followed and the sprayer mechanism is handled gently. Before each new filling, it is necessary to thoroughly clean and disinfect both the bottle and the dosing part in order to minimize the risk of microbial contamination and extend the stability of your formulations. To disinfect the inner surface and the dosing system, we recommend using a suitable alcoholic preparation, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol or etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný. After treatment, allow all parts to dry completely and only then refill the packaging.

How should the foam sprayer be properly cleaned to keep it fully functional?

When cleaning the foam sprayer, it is advisable first to separate the dosing head from the bottle, rinse it thoroughly with warm (not boiling) water and press the mechanism several times so that the water passes through the entire internal system. In case of residues of surfactants or pigments, you can use a mild cleaning agent that rinses off well. Then rinse the mechanism again with clean water and let it dry in a vertical position. Avoid aggressive solvents and excessive mechanical stress that could shorten the lifespan of the springs or sealing elements.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this packaging if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the type of material indicated in the product parameters and on the packaging itself. Before disposal, always use up or remove any remaining contents, rinse the bottle and, where possible, separate the individual parts (for example the container and the dosing mechanism). Then dispose of them in the appropriate container according to local waste sorting rules. By following the recommended method of recycling, you contribute to reducing the amount of waste and making more efficient use of material resources.
