HDPE packaging is intended primarily for filling products at normal or slightly elevated temperatures that are safe for the given material. For hot or freshly cooked mixtures, we recommend first letting the contents cool down and only then filling them into the bottle. Always check the exact limits for temperature and product type in the packaging quality certificate and in the product parameters and perform your own test before serial production.

The packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are observed, but we recommend keeping the same type of product (for example always only cosmetics with a water base). Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the bottle thoroughly and disinfect it, for example using isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96 % denatured vegetable, available in the raw materials category: IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol 1 l and Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný 1 l. When changing the type of filling or in case of any doubts, we recommend replacing the packaging with a new one.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend first emptying it as much as possible of product residues. Then follow the material marking and the recycling symbol given in the product parameters and on the packaging itself. According to this marking, you will sort the bottle into the appropriate separated waste (most often the container for plastic). In the case of a combination of different materials (for example a plastic bottle and a different type of closure), it is ideal to separate the individual parts before putting them into the container, if possible.

When choosing a closure or dispenser, it is important to match the type of neck, the length of the dip tube and the character of the product itself (viscosity, oil or water base, alcohol content). The combinations offered directly with the product on Handymade are tested; nevertheless, we recommend performing your own test – verify whether the closure seals well, whether the dosing corresponds to the intended use and whether the material of the closure and the bottle reacts appropriately with your specific formulation.
