Product description

Plastic jar with lid represents a practical and reliable packaging solution for a wide range of cosmetic and body care products. Thanks to the high-quality plastic material, it is suitable for filling various creamy, gel-based and more solid formulations that require a stable container with a well-sealing closure. The jar is designed to protect the contents from impurities, unwanted contamination and normal mechanical impacts during everyday use.

In combination with the precisely fitting lid, this packaging creates a compact and user-friendly pot that is suitable for the bathroom, a handbag and for travelling. Thanks to its versatility, it is a popular choice for DIY cosmetic making, artisan production and also for smaller brands that are looking for a professional-looking yet practical jar.

Usage options

  • packaging of facial and body creams, balms, butters and ointments
  • storage of peelings, massage blends and body scrubs
  • practical pot for face and hair masks
  • packaging for more solid cosmetic products such as lip balms, cream make-up or concealers
  • creative use for small amounts of pigments, bath powders or cosmetic blends for travel

Packaging advantages

  • Stable and durable material – the rigid plastic container withstands normal impacts and mechanical stress during transport and everyday use.
  • Protection of contents against contamination – the well-fitting lid reduces the risk of the product being contaminated by dust and impurities from the external environment.
  • Convenient dosing – the wide opening of the jar allows easy scooping of the product with fingers or a spatula, which is ideal for thicker and creamy formulations.
  • Universal use in cosmetics – suitable for facial, body and hair care, from test samples to final products.
  • Practical shape for storage and transport – the compact jar can be easily stored on shelves, in drawers and in cosmetic bags.

Combining with closures and dispensers

Packaging and closure combinations that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation). This will verify that the selected jar with lid will function reliably with your product and filling technology.

Technical parameters

All technical parameters of the packaging are stated in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this jar also suitable for denser and butter-like cosmetic products?

Yes, the plastic jar is also suitable for denser creams, body butters, balms or ointments. The wider opening of the container makes it easier to scoop products with higher viscosity and the stable construction of the jar helps maintain its shape even with thicker formulations. For very oily or highly pigmented products, we recommend performing your own test to verify long-term compatibility with the composition used.

Can I use this packaging repeatedly for different products?

The jar can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the packaging thoroughly and then disinfect it with a suitable alcohol-based product, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use products available on Handymade, such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured, plant-based. Only after the disinfectant has completely dried and ventilated is the jar suitable for refilling.

How should I correctly clean the jar before re-use so that the new formulation is not affected?

First mechanically remove any residues of the original product, then wash the jar with a suitable cleaning agent and warm water. After rinsing, let the packaging dry and carry out disinfection, ideally with alcohol in an appropriate concentration (for example preparations based on isopropyl alcohol or ethanol). After applying the disinfectant, it is important to allow the container to dry and air out completely so that no alcohol residues or odour remain in the packaging, which could affect the fragrance or stability of the new formulation.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle the jar if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the jar, we recommend first emptying it and mechanically removing any product residues. Then sort the packaging according to the type of material stated in the product parameters and on the packaging labelling – into the corresponding fraction of sorted waste (for example a plastic container) in your municipality. For combined packaging, it is advisable to separate the lid from the container, if possible. By following local waste sorting rules, you support effective material recycling and a reduction in the amount of mixed municipal waste.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

To select suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter located at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. Thanks to the filter, you can clearly narrow down the range according to key parameters such as neck type, size, colour or material. In this way you will quickly find bottles, jars or other containers that best match your formulation, desired volume and the design of the final product.
