Resveratrol (trans-Resveratrol, 3,5,4’-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene) is a natural phytoalexin – a polyphenol known for its strong anti-ageing properties. It is obtained from grape skins (Vitis vinifera), but also from other parts of the vine, certain berries and especially from Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum). In cosmetics it is considered the “king of anti-ageing active ingredients”, because it effectively protects the skin against free radicals, supports its renewal and acts against the signs of ageing.

Key benefits:

• powerful antioxidant, more effective than vitamin C and α-tocopherol,

• supports skin regeneration, protects collagen and elastin,

• helps reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles,

• brightens and illuminates the complexion (by inhibiting tyrosinase and melanogenesis),

Use in formulation:

• recommended dosage: 0,1 % – 1 %

• recommended as an active anti-ageing ingredient at a concentration according to the product type,

• suitable for oil-based and emulsion formulations,

• the raw material is sensitive to light and oxidation – stabilization and opaque packaging are recommended,
