FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Can this bottle with trigger sprayer be used repeatedly?

Yes, the packaging can be reused if hygienic principles are followed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the spray head must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed, and the packaging subsequently disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based product, such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection, you can also use products available on Handymade, such as IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %. This reduces the risk of microbial contamination and preserves the quality of your formulation.

How should I properly clean and disinfect the bottle and sprayer before reuse?

First, clean the packaging mechanically – rinse out residues of the original product with warm water and a mild cleaning agent, then rinse thoroughly with clean water. We then recommend disinfection with a suitable alcohol. Isopropyl alcohol or denatured plant ethanol in concentrations used in cosmetics are practical choices. After applying the disinfectant, allow the packaging to dry thoroughly at room temperature. PET material and the sprayer are not suitable for boiling or washing in a dishwasher, because high temperatures may cause deformation or impaired functionality.

How can I safely dispose of and recycle this plastic bottle if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is advisable to place it in sorted waste collection according to the material specified in the product parameters. After emptying and basic rinsing with harmless water, sort the packaging according to local waste separation rules (usually plastic packaging in the yellow container). We recommend checking the recycling symbol on the packaging and following the recommendations of your municipality or city. In this way, the material can be recycled and reused as efficiently as possible.

Is this plastic bottle with sprayer resistant to high temperatures or disinfection with hot water?

Plastic packaging, especially when made of PET, is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures. Contact with hot water, steam or boiling can lead to deformation of the bottle walls, damage to the thread or impaired function of the spray head. For this reason, washing in a dishwasher or sterilisation by boiling is not recommended. For safe hygiene of the packaging, it is advisable to use lukewarm water, mild cleaning agents and subsequent disinfection with alcohol intended for this purpose.
