FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is this plastic bottle suitable for repeated use?

Yes, the bottle with spray can be used repeatedly if correct hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling it is necessary to thoroughly rinse the packaging and the spray, clean them and then disinfect them, ideally using a suitable alcohol, for example IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After applying the disinfectant, let all parts dry completely at room temperature and only then refill the flask again in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination of the product.

How should I correctly clean and maintain the spray so that it does not clog?

To maintain the full functionality of the spray, we recommend that after the content has been used up, you rinse the container and the mechanism with lukewarm water and, if necessary, use a mild cleaning agent compatible with plastic. Subsequently, it is advisable to clean the mechanism by drawing in clean water or diluted alcohol and pressing the spray several times so that the internal capillary is flushed. Avoid thick emulsions or blends with a high content of insoluble particles, which may permanently damage the dosing system and cause clogging or uneven spraying.

Can I use this bottle with hot or freshly cooked preparations?

The plastic material of this container is not intended for contact with hot or freshly cooked blends. When exposed to high temperatures, deformation of the packaging, an effect on shape stability and shortening of the spray’s service life may occur. The packaging is not suitable for washing in a dishwasher or for boiling. Always wait until the prepared product reaches room temperature and only then pour it into the bottle to prevent damage to the container and the dosing mechanism.

How can I recycle this bottle if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the bottle, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the type of plastic given in the parameter table at the product on the Handymade website. Before handing it over for separated collection, empty the container, rinse out product residues and, if possible, separate the individual parts (bottle, spray, cap) from each other. Then place them in the appropriate container according to the material marking. Proper sorting enables more efficient processing of the plastic and helps to reduce the environmental burden.
