From a material point of view, the glass bottle is also suitable for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils, since glass is generally stable towards these substances. For each specific product, however, we recommend performing your own test – checking the long-term behaviour of the contents in contact with the sprayer (sealing, elasticity and functionality of the mechanism), as well as the stability of the product’s fragrance and colour during storage.

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the bottle and the sprayer and then disinfecting them with a suitable alcohol solution, for example using the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Only after complete drying and airing is the packaging ready for further use, ideally with a similar type of formulation (for example always only aqueous sprays or always only alcohol-based sprays), in order to minimise the risk of affecting the fragrance or stability of the new product.

Before repeated use, it is advisable to rinse the packaging with warm water and a mild cleaning agent, rinse it thoroughly and allow it to dry completely. We then recommend disinfecting the inner surface of the bottle and the parts that come into contact with the contents with an alcohol-based preparation, for example with isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol. After disinfection, let the packaging dry and air naturally so that any residual alcohol can evaporate. Only then should you fill the bottle with a new product.

If you decide not to use the packaging any further, we recommend first emptying it and removing any product residues. The glass part of the bottle can, after cleaning, be placed in sorted waste intended for glass, according to local sorting rules in your municipality. The sprayer and plastic components should be separated and sorted according to the type of material stated in the product parameters. By recycling, you reduce the amount of waste and support the reuse of raw materials.
