FAQ – Most frequent questions

Is this plastic bottle suitable for repeated use?

The bottle can be used repeatedly with proper handling, but we recommend following strict hygiene rules. Before each new filling, the packaging must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol‑based preparation, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol available in the Handymade range (IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol, Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný). Only after the inner surfaces are completely dry is the bottle ready for refilling.

Can I wash this plastic bottle in a dishwasher or boil it?

This type of plastic packaging is not intended to be exposed to high temperatures, therefore we do not recommend washing it in a dishwasher or boiling it. When exposed to elevated temperature, there is a risk of deformation of the bottle and deterioration of the functionality of the thread or closure. For cleaning, it is suitable to use lukewarm water with a mild cleaning agent, thorough rinsing and subsequent disinfection with the recommended alcohol‑based preparation.

How should I properly clean and disinfect the bottle before refilling?

After emptying the packaging, first rinse the bottle with lukewarm water, if necessary use a small amount of mild detergent and then rinse thoroughly so that no residues of the cleaning agent remain inside. Then apply an alcohol‑based disinfectant – liquid preparations based on isopropyl alcohol or ethanol are practical (see the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alkohol and Etanol 96 % denaturovaný rastlinný). After disinfection, let the packaging dry completely at room temperature, ideally turned upside down, and only then refill it.

How can I dispose of or recycle this plastic bottle in an environmentally friendly way if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it responsibly according to the recommendations listed in the product parameters on Handymade. First empty the bottle and, if possible, rinse out any product residues. Then follow the material marking and the recommended collection category – plastic packaging is usually placed in the container intended for plastics, or according to local waste sorting rules. The cap is often made from a different type of plastic than the bottle body, so it is advisable to separate them before disposal. Always follow the local waste management system and the information given with the product.
