Product description

Glass bottle, white, safety dropper, 10 ml

A small glass medicine bottle with a safety dropper for precise dispensing drop by drop. The 10 ml volume is enough for a serum sample, an essential oil blend, a facial oil or a concentrated active ingredient that is added to a cream or mask one drop at a time. White glass hides the colour of the contents and lets through less light, so it also suits ingredients that are sensitive to light.

The set is supplied as a ready-made pair: a white bottle and a black closure with dropper, matched to each other. The closure with dropper is fitted with a safety lock.

What it is suitable for

  • Serums and facial oils – the dropper takes up exactly the amount that is applied to the skin, and the rest stays in the bottle without contact with fingers.
  • Essential oils and fragrance blends – both the glass tube of the dropper and the glass bottle withstand concentrated oils that damage plastic packaging.
  • Active ingredients and tinctures – small quantities for dispensing into finished products, where the exact number of drops matters.
  • Samples and testers – the 10 ml volume suits trial packs that the customer tries before buying a larger quantity.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so it is not suitable for homemade oils, syrups or infusions intended for consumption.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for under normal filling. The total brim-full volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between the two leaves room for the dropper, which reaches into the bottle once screwed on, and for slight expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Before filling a larger batch, check on a single piece how deep the dropper reaches and whether the contents overflow through the neck once it is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash and disinfect the bottle and let it dry completely. Take the dropper apart, rinse it and dry it as well, so that no water is left inside the tube that could get into an anhydrous product.

Before handing the product to a customer, try opening and closing the closure with safety lock so that you can explain the procedure, and check that the lock engages properly after closing.

The dropper combines glass, plastic and silicone: the tube is glass, the bulb is silicone and the closure is plastic. Glass itself has no problem with concentrated essential oils, alcohol tinctures or solvents, so we recommend testing the behaviour of the bulb and the seal with your specific formulation. After drawing up the product with the dropper, close the bottle immediately so that the volatile components do not lose their scent.

The glass bottle is suitable for repeated use; after emptying, simply wash and disinfect it thoroughly. The dropper wears out over time, so check it before each new filling.

Glass does not tolerate sudden changes in temperature well. Do not pour a hot formulation into a cold bottle or the other way round; let the contents cool to at least room temperature.

For recycling, the glass bottle belongs in glass waste. The dropper combines glass, plastic and silicone, and is sorted separately from the bottle according to local rules.

You can also use the bottle on its own with other closures that have the same neck type, which is stated in the parameters. You will find ready-made combinations of bottle and closure in the Handymade range. If you combine them yourself, we recommend testing the tightness, dispensing and behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 10 ml white glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, white glass lets through less light than clear glass, and the contents cannot be seen from outside. It is therefore suitable for serums with active ingredients, facial oils and essential oils, which lose effectiveness or scent when exposed to light for a longer time. However, compared with a clear bottle, the customer cannot see the colour or the remaining amount of product, which should be taken into account when choosing packaging.
How much can you actually fit into the 10 ml dropper bottle?
The bottle is designed to be filled with 10 ml, although its physical brim-full volume is larger. The reserve is for the dropper, which reaches into the bottle once screwed on, and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If it is filled to the brim, the contents overflow through the neck when closing and soil the thread.
Is the glass dropper bottle suitable for essential oils?
Both the bottle and the dropper tube are made of glass, so concentrated essential oils do not harm them. The silicone bulb and the plastic closure also come into contact with the oils, so for highly concentrated blends or solvents we recommend testing the behaviour of the dropper with the given formulation. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
Can the 10 ml dropper bottle be used for food?
No, the set is not approved for contact with food. The bottle and the dropper are declared for contact with cosmetic products, that is serums, oils, toners and active ingredients. For homemade oils, syrups or herbal infusions intended for consumption, choose packaging from the range that has a food-contact certificate stated in the parameters.
Can the glass dropper bottle be reused?
Yes, after emptying, the glass bottle can be washed, disinfected and refilled. Take the dropper apart, rinse it and let it dry completely so that no water is left in the tube. The silicone bulb wears out over time and may lose its elasticity, so check it before each new filling and replace it if necessary.
