Product description
This is a ready-made set consisting of a glass bottle with a nominal volume of 10 ml and a black-and-gold dropper, designed for precise dosing of small quantities. The white opaque glass limits light exposure to the contents, making it suitable for facial serums, oil blends with sensitive ingredients, active ingredient concentrates, essential oil blends, or tinctures where content stability and drop-by-drop dosing matter. The small volume is practical for samples, test batches, and products used in small doses.
The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so it is intended for cosmetics, not for household oils or syrups.
Key benefits
- Protection of contents from light – opaque white glass limits light exposure, which helps with ingredients sensitive to light and oxidation, for example oils with a higher proportion of unsaturated fatty acids or serums with vitamins.
- Precise dosing – the dropper with a glass tube and silicone bulb allows measuring the contents drop by drop. Useful for concentrates, essential oils, and active ingredients where small amounts are dispensed.
- Glass with no interaction with contents – glass does not react with essential oils, solvents, or alcohol-based solutions, so it is suitable even where a plastic container might soften or absorb the scent.
- Uniform appearance – the black cap with a gold ring looks elegant on the white bottle and suits a minimalist label design.
- Reusable – both the glass bottle and the dropper can be washed, disinfected, and refilled.
Practical use
The set is particularly suitable for facial serums (water-based and oil-based), face and hair oils in small packaging, essential oil blends, active ingredient concentrates, herbal tinctures, oil extracts, samples, and test batches. It is also useful for manufacturers who offer customers small trial sizes before purchasing a larger volume.
The dropper seals in the neck with the thread specified in the parameters. The glass tube reaches almost to the bottom and the silicone bulb retains its shape even in contact with oils. With thicker contents, such as gel serums with higher viscosity, the contents are drawn up more slowly. The dropper is therefore most suitable for liquid and mildly viscous contents.
Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Once the dropper is inserted, the glass tube takes up part of the volume and the contents need space to expand with temperature changes. If filled to the neck, the contents will overflow when closing.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume the container is designed for under standard filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is the allowance for the dropper and for expansion of the contents. When calculating the amount of product per package, use the nominal volume.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and dropper before use, disinfect with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an oil product may shorten its stability.
- Water-based products – water-based and emulsion serums in this container require preservation. Neither the glass nor the dropper replaces preservation.
- Alcohol and oil-based contents – the glass and glass tube tolerate alcohol, essential oils, and solvents. For prolonged contact with a high proportion of essential oils, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the silicone bulb with the specific formulation.
- Label – the bottle has a cylindrical shape with a smooth wall. For a small diameter, a narrower label or a wrap-around label is suitable.
- Heat – glass tolerates heat, but fill the contents only after they have cooled to prevent expansion and to avoid exposing the silicone bulb to a warm product.
- Other closures – closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dosing with the specific formulation.
- Recycling – the glass bottle belongs in glass waste. The dropper is a combination of glass, silicone, aluminium, and plastic, so disassemble it into individual components before disposal.
Always screw the dropper down fully, but without forcing it. The aluminium ring can deform if overtightened, causing the dropper to lose its seal.
