The packaging can be used repeatedly if hygiene principles are observed. Before every new filling, the bottle and spray dispenser must be thoroughly cleaned and rinsed, and then the packaging must be disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99 % – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After it has completely dried, the packaging can be refilled and further used.

First empty the remaining contents, rinse the bottle with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, and then rinse several times with clean water so that no detergent residues remain in the packaging. It is advisable to flush the spray dispenser by drawing clean water into it and emptying it several times by spraying. After mechanical cleaning, we recommend disinfecting the packaging and mechanism with alcohol (e.g. IPA 99 % or ethanol 96 %) and letting it dry completely at room temperature.

The spray dispenser is ideal for low-viscosity liquid preparations that need to be applied in a thin, even layer. In practice, this mainly includes facial and body toners, floral hydrolates, hair tonics, air fresheners, textile sprays or mild cleaning solutions. For thicker emulsions or oil blends, it is always necessary to test whether the mechanism can dispense the product without problems and whether the spray dispenser does not become clogged.

Before recycling, it is advisable to empty the bottle and remove any remaining contents. The sorting method is based on the type of plastic material stated in the product parameters on the Handymade website – according to the recycling symbol, you assign the packaging to the appropriate container for sorted waste (most often plastic). The spray dispenser may be composed of several parts, so follow local waste sorting rules. If you are not sure, we recommend cleaning the packaging and handing it over to a collection yard or collection point that handles packaging materials in accordance with applicable legislation.

Suitability of use always depends on the specific composition of the product. Before filling a larger quantity, we recommend performing a stress compatibility test – fill a small amount of the formulation, leave the packaging for several days to weeks under conditions similar to real use and observe changes in the colour, shape and strength of the plastic as well as the functionality of the spray dispenser. If you do not notice any changes or damage to the packaging, you can safely use it for this type of product.
