Yes, the packaging can be reused if hygiene principles are followed. However, before each refilling the bottle and atomizer must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example using products such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. This minimises the risk of microbial contamination and of affecting the stability of the new fill.

First rinse the packaging with a residual medium suitable for the given formulation (e.g. clean water or a suitable solvent), then wash it with a non-aggressive cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly. After drying, disinfect both the bottle and the atomizer with alcohol (e.g. IPA 99 % or plant-based ethanol 96 %). For the atomizer, we recommend pressing the mechanism several times so that the disinfectant solution reaches the entire internal system.

Before recycling, we recommend using up the contents as much as possible or removing any remaining product. The glass body of the bottle, once separated from the plastic atomizer, should be placed in the container intended for glass recycling. The plastic mechanism of the atomizer (including the tube) belongs in the plastics container, unless the local sorting rules state otherwise. The specific method of sorting is determined by the information in the product’s technical parameters and by the local waste collection system.

The spray atomizer is ideal for products where fine and even distribution is important – for example facial and body sprays, air fresheners, pillow sprays, hair sprays, disinfectant solutions or light cleaning products. Thick or highly viscous formulations are not suitable for this type of dispensing, so for a new formula it is always advisable to perform a practical spraying test.

Glass is generally a very stable material even for formulations containing alcohol or essential oils, so the bottle body is usually suitable for these types of products. The more sensitive part tends to be the atomizer, which may have limited compatibility at high alcohol concentrations or with more aggressive components. Before serial filling, we therefore recommend carrying out a test – fill a small amount of product, test the operation of the atomizer and observe any changes in the material of the closure and sealing over time.
