FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Is this airless bottle suitable for thicker creams or only for liquid serums?

The airless bottle is designed mainly for liquid to medium-viscosity formulations, such as face serums, light creams, gels and fluids. For very thick, balm-like or buttery textures we recommend carrying out a trial dosing test before filling and, if necessary, choosing a more suitable type of jar or pot. Always watch whether the mechanism is able to expel the product smoothly without excessive pressure.

Can I reuse this bottle for new batches of my serum?

The packaging can, if hygienic principles are observed, be reused also for further batches of the product. Before each new filling, however, it is necessary to clean the bottle thoroughly and disinfect it with a suitable preparation, for example technical alcohol such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or plant-based ethanol such as Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Disinfection helps to minimize the risk of microbial contamination and to preserve the quality of the new product in the packaging.

How should I properly clean and maintain this bottle so that I do not damage the airless mechanism?

For cleaning we recommend first rinsing the packaging with warm (not boiling) water and a mild detergent, rinsing it thoroughly with clean water and allowing it to dry completely. Afterwards you can disinfect the inner surfaces and the exterior with preparations such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Avoid extremely high temperatures, long-term soaking of the mechanism and overly aggressive chemicals which could affect the functionality of the pump.

How can I safely recycle this bottle if I no longer want to use it?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend, after emptying it and carrying out basic cleaning, to place it in sorted waste according to the type of plastic material stated in the product parameters. You can find the information about the material in the parameter table at the product on the Handymade.sk website; according to this, place the bottle into the appropriate plastics container according to local waste sorting rules. In the case of combined materials it is appropriate, where possible, to separate the individual parts (for example the body of the bottle and the mechanism) and sort them separately, if the local collection system allows this.
