Product description

The airless jar represents a modern and hygienic packaging for sensitive cosmetic formulations, providing them with maximum protection against contact with air and contamination during use. Thanks to the airless system, this jar is ideal for packaging creamy, gel-based and slightly liquid products where the stability of the composition, comfortable dosing and the professional appearance of the final product are important. The packaging is designed to allow precise, gradual dispensing of the contents without the need to immerse fingers into the jar, thereby supporting longer shelf life and cleanliness of the product.

Possible uses

  • day and night face creams, serums, emulsions and face gels
  • creams for the eye area, sensitive skin and anti-age formulations with a higher content of active ingredients
  • care creams for hands and body, after-sun balms and regenerating preparations
  • dermocosmetic preparations, local treatments and cosmetic products with a limited content of preservatives
  • care preparations for problematic skin, AHA/BHA products and special treatments where minimisation of contact with air is desirable

Advantages of the packaging

  • Material stability – the high-quality plastic material of the packaging is designed for cosmetic applications, retains its shape and functionality during normal use and is compatible with most standard cosmetic formulations.
  • Protection of the contents – the airless mechanism minimises access of air to the product, thereby supporting longer stability, reducing the risk of contamination and allowing comfortable dosing without direct contact of fingers with the contents of the jar.
  • Precise and hygienic dosing – the product is dispensed gradually and evenly, which helps to maintain consistent dosing and reduce wastage.
  • Professional appearance – the clean, compact design of the jar looks aesthetic and professional, suitable for home brands as well as smaller artisan cosmetic production.
  • Universal use in cosmetics – suitable for various types of creamy and gel-based preparations, from basic skin care to specialised treatment products.

Combining with closures and dispensers

  • Combinations of packaging and closures that are created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. This ensures reliable sealing as well as comfortable application of the contents during normal use.
  • However, for all combinations we recommend always carrying out your own compatibility test – checking the tightness of the packaging, dosing behaviour and stability of the material in contact with the specific formula, especially with a high proportion of active ingredients, oils or acids.

Technical parameters

  • All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached packaging quality certificate and in the product parameters.
  • Before implementation in practice, we recommend testing the packaging with your specific formulation in a smaller trial batch in order to verify compatibility, dosing comfort and the overall user experience.
  • When deciding on the suitability of the packaging for a given type of product, follow the information in the parameter table and the recommendations of the material manufacturer.

FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

How should the airless jar be properly prepared before the first filling?

Before first use, it is advisable to check whether the jar is not mechanically damaged and then to clean and disinfect it thoroughly. It is recommended to work in a clean environment, disassemble the packaging into the accessible parts, remove mechanical impurities by rinsing and then disinfect the inner surfaces with a suitable alcohol-based preparation. After the alcohol has evaporated and the jar is completely dry, you can proceed to filling with the finished cosmetic product.

Is it possible to use this packaging repeatedly?

The packaging can be used repeatedly if hygienic principles are observed, especially within your own manufacturing practice or when refilling the same type of product. Before each new filling, however, the jar must first be cleaned thoroughly and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99% – isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based. Only after the inner surfaces are completely dry is the packaging ready for refilling, in order to minimise the risk of microbial contamination.

What should be done if, after filling, the airless mechanism does not draw up the product evenly?

If the dosing mechanism does not start working evenly immediately, it is recommended first to check the consistency of the filled product and any air entrapment. Pressing the pump several times may help, or gently tapping the bottom part of the jar against a soft surface so that the product moves towards the dosing orifice. For thicker creams, check whether the packaging is not too small or, conversely, too large for that type of consistency, which may affect the smooth movement of the piston.

How to dispose of and recycle the packaging safely if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is recommended to recycle it according to the type of material specified in the product parameter table. First, it is advisable to remove any product residues, disassemble the packaging into individual parts as far as possible (body, internal components, cap) and sort them into the appropriate separate waste fractions according to local regulations. Following the information on the material in the product parameters will help you to assign the packaging to the correct collection stream and thus support effective recycling.

You offer many types of packaging – how can I find the right one for my product?

To select suitable packaging, you can use the advanced filter available at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging category. Using the filter, you can quickly narrow down the offer according to parameters such as neck type, size, colour or material. In this way, you will find the bottle, jar or dropper bottle that best matches your formulation and the desired appearance of the final product.

For which type of cosmetic products is the airless jar most suitable?

The airless jar is particularly suitable for cosmetics where the stability of active ingredients and minimisation of contact with air and impurities are important. These are mainly face creams, serums, special treatments, dermocosmetic preparations and products with a lower content of preservatives. It is also suitable for eye contour creams and local treatment preparations, where the user will appreciate precise and hygienic dosing without immersing fingers into the contents of the jar.
