Product description

Alpha Arbutin (AA) is a beautifying and whitening agent that can effectively and selectively inhibit the activity of tyrosinase (the enzyme responsible for the formation of melanin, which influences skin pigmentation) and thus eliminate the formation of melanin and hyperpigmentation without altering the normal growth of epidermal cells or inhibiting the expression of tyrosinase itself. Alpha arbutin is obtained from plants of the genus Arctostaphylos, thanks to which it has a 100% plant origin.

Due to its various beneficial properties, alpha-arbutin is often used in skin care products as well as in cosmetic formulations. It helps to prevent the formation of dark spots, even out skin tone and improve its texture. Unlike hydroquinone, which was used in the past to reduce pigmentation, alpha arbutin is gentler and also suitable for more sensitive skin. AA prevents the uneven deposition of melanin in the skin. Although melanin is essential for protecting cells from UV radiation, its excessive concentration leads to pigment spots, scars and irregularities in skin tone.

Skin care: It is used mainly for its skin-lightening and brightening effects. It helps reduce the occurrence of hyperpigmentation, age spots and melasma and promotes a more even skin tone.

Cosmetic products: It is often added to formulations to enhance their effects on the skin. Thanks to its brightening effect, it helps to achieve a more radiant and youthful appearance. In addition, thanks to the antioxidant properties of alpha-arbutin, it is useful in protecting the skin against free radicals and environmental damage, thereby contributing to the overall health of the skin.

You can incorporate alpha arbutin into ointments, creams and serums.

Alpha arbutin is soluble in water.

Recommended dosage: 0.5 - 5%.
