Product description
The aluminium bottle with a white trigger sprayer, 200 ml, is a lightweight and unbreakable spray packaging: a single press of the trigger delivers a uniform dose of liquid. Aluminium is opaque, so the contents are protected from light, and unlike glass it can withstand drops and transport in a bag or suitcase. The set is designed for thin liquid preparations applied to a larger area: refreshing and cleansing sprays, hair waters, sprays for textiles and laundry, body and room mists, or cooling foot sprays.
Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is not approved for contact with food, so it belongs in cosmetics and household preparations, not in the kitchen.
How the set dispenses
The trigger sprayer is operated by pressing the trigger. Each press draws liquid from the bottom of the bottle through the tube and the nozzle disperses it into a fine, small dose. Compared to a pump sprayer with a short button, the trigger is easier and more comfortable to use even during longer application, for example when spraying textiles or hair.
The sprayer works reliably only with thin contents: water, hydrolates, tonics, alcohol solutions, hair waters, very thin oils. Thicker preparations, gels or emulsions with higher viscosity will not be dispersed by the nozzle — it will dose them unevenly or become clogged.
The sprayer tube is supplied with extra length. Before the first filling, cut it at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom of the bottle. A bent or compressed tube draws poorly and leaves unused residue at the bottom.
The sprayer is fitted onto the bottle neck by thread and tightened by hand. The smooth white collar has no edges or grooves, so it is easy to clean and holds well even with wet hands. Before transporting a filled set, we recommend checking the seal in the inverted position. Long-term storage neck down is not recommended for trigger sprayers.
Nominal volume and filling headspace
Nominal volume is the volume for which the packaging is intended under normal filling conditions, and this is also how the set is labelled. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is larger. The difference between them is the headspace for the tube and the sprayer body, which displace part of the volume when fitted, and for the expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If filled up to the neck, the contents will be pushed out when the sprayer is screwed on and may flow into the thread. Exact values of both volumes are in the specifications.
Good to know
Aluminium and water-based contents. Aluminium handles alcohol solutions, oils and anhydrous preparations without issues. With aqueous, acidic or saline formulations, it is advisable to verify the behaviour of the packaging. Aluminium without an internal protective coating may react with such contents, and information about the internal treatment of this bottle is not available.
Before filling a larger batch, carry out a stability test with a single bottle. After several weeks, check whether the contents have changed colour or scent and whether the inside of the bottle shows any signs of reaction. This applies especially to sprays with a low pH and preparations with a higher salt content.
Preparation before first filling. Rinse the bottle with warm water and a small amount of detergent, rinse thoroughly, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely neck down. Spray the sprayer with clean water and then with a disinfectant solution to clean the tube and nozzle as well. Do not wash aluminium in a dishwasher. Aggressive alkaline agents will dull and discolour the surface.
Filling. Pour in the contents cooled down. Aluminium conducts heat well, a hot bottle is difficult to hold and the sprayer seal is not designed for high temperatures. A funnel will help when filling through the narrow neck.
Repeated use. The bottle is sturdy and can be reused. Aluminium is softer than glass — it will not shatter on impact but may dent. This usually has no effect on functionality. After each refill, rinse the sprayer and flush it with clean water to prevent residue from the previous contents from drying in the nozzle.
Labelling. The cylindrical body with a smooth surface is suitable for a label. You will find the bottle diameter and height in the specifications. For water- or alcohol-based sprays, choose a waterproof label — the packaging tends to get wet during use.
Other closures. Closures with the same neck type as stated in the specifications, and other ready-made bottle + closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
Recycling. Aluminium can be recycled repeatedly without loss of quality. The sprayer is made of plastic, so before disposal it is separated from the bottle and each part goes into the appropriate waste stream.
