Product description

The amber plastic bottle with a 150 ml volume and a white mini trigger sprayer is a ready-made set for liquid cosmetic products that are applied by spraying. The amber colour filters light and helps protect light-sensitive contents, for example hydrosols, facial toners or essential oil sprays. The PET bottle is lightweight and unbreakable, so it is also suitable for travel.

The mini trigger sprayer with a 24/410 neck finish dispenses the contents evenly in a fine mist and is intended for low-viscosity liquids. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial toners and hydrosols – water-based products where application without hand contact with the face is appreciated.
  • Hair sprays – light leave-in products, for example conditioner sprays or sprays with hydrosols and humectants.
  • Body and refreshing sprays – water-based or water-alcohol blends with low viscosity.
  • Auxiliary solutions in production – for example alcohol for removing bubbles from the surface of soap, where the sprayer serves as a working tool.

Filling and dispensing

The bottle has a nominal volume of 150 ml, that is, the volume it is intended for in normal filling. The brimful capacity given in the parameters is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between the two provides a reserve for the dip tube of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, never to the brim.

The mini trigger sprayer draws the contents up through a dip tube from the bottom. After screwing it on, press the head several times until the tube fills and the mist starts to come out. One press releases approximately 0.2 ml, which for a full bottle corresponds to about 750 doses. This figure helps when estimating consumption and when calculating the dose of active ingredients per use.

You can shorten the dip tube of the sprayer with a sharp knife so that it ends just above the bottom of the bottle. A tube that is too long bends and part of the contents remains unused.

Good to know

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the sprayer, rinsing them with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol and letting them dry completely. Follow the same procedure when reusing them. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and pump it several times so that the internal mechanism is cleaned as well.

The sprayer is designed for aqueous solutions and liquids of similar consistency. Thick emulsions, gels or pure oils will either not spray into a mist, or the nozzle will gradually clog. For products with a higher proportion of oil, we recommend testing the spraying on a small sample.

PET should not be exposed to aggressive chemicals. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking the behaviour of the material with your specific formulation in advance, or choosing glass packaging instead.

Do not expose the bottle to heat or direct sunlight, even though the amber colour blocks part of the light. PET is not intended for filling with hot contents, so let the formulation cool down before filling.

The set consists of two materials: a PET bottle and a sprayer made of polypropylene (PP). Before disposal, unscrew the sprayer and sort both parts as plastic.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber PET bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the amber colour of the plastic filters light and reduces its effect on the contents. It is therefore suitable for hydrosols, toners with vitamins or sprays with essential oils, which are sensitive to light. The bottle does not provide complete darkness, so store it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
Can the mini trigger sprayer be used for oil?
Pure oils generally will not spray into a fine mist with a mini trigger sprayer. The contents are more likely to squirt out in a stream and the nozzle may clog. The sprayer is intended for low-viscosity liquids such as aqueous solutions, hydrosols or water-alcohol blends. For light oil blends, we recommend testing the behaviour on a small amount first.
How much liquid fits in the 150 ml plastic bottle?
The bottle is intended to be filled with 150 ml of contents, which is its nominal volume. The physical volume up to the neck is larger and the exact value is given in the parameters. The difference serves as a reserve for the dip tube of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents, so the bottle is filled only up to the nominal volume.
Is the set with the sprayer suitable for alcohol-based toners?
Water-alcohol blends in common cosmetic concentrations are applied well with this sprayer because they have low viscosity. With a high proportion of alcohol, or when a larger amount of essential oils is added, we recommend checking the behaviour of the PET bottle with your specific formulation, or choosing glass packaging instead.
How do I clean the mini trigger sprayer before reusing it?
Unscrew the sprayer, rinse it with warm water and pump it several times with clean water to wash out the remains of the previous contents. Then disinfect it with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. Wash the bottle, rinse it with alcohol and dry it with the neck facing down. Water remaining in the sprayer can dilute or spoil a new formulation.
Why does the sprayer not spray after I screw it on?
After screwing it on, the dip tube of the sprayer is empty and must first be filled with the contents. Press the head several times in a row until the mist appears. If the sprayer does not work even then, check that the tube reaches below the surface of the liquid and that the nozzle is not clogged by thick contents.
