However, for all combinations we always recommend performing your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation), especially for preparations containing a high proportion of alcohol, essential oils or other active substances.

FAQ – Most frequently asked questions

Can I reuse this aluminium bottle with sprayer?

Yes, the packaging can be reused with a suitable type of filling, provided that you follow basic hygiene principles. Before each refilling, the bottle and trigger sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with an appropriate agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use the products IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or Ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after all parts of the packaging are completely dry do we recommend refilling the container.

How should I correctly clean the trigger sprayer to keep the dosing functional?

When cleaning the trigger sprayer, it is advisable first to separate the packaging into the bottle and the sprayer mechanism. Rinse the bottle with warm water and a mild cleaning agent and then with clean water. Flush the sprayer through with several sprays of clean water so that the internal channel is cleared of residues of the original filling. After rinsing, you can use a suitable alcohol solution for disinfection and again spray through several times. It is important to let all parts dry completely to avoid diluting the new filling and impairing the spraying function.

Is this aluminium bottle suitable for storing preparations with a high content of essential oils or alcohol?

The suitability of the packaging for a specific formulation always depends on the composition of the product and the length of its storage. The aluminium bottle in combination with a trigger sprayer is generally intended for various aqueous or low-viscosity solutions, but for a higher content of essential oils or alcohol we recommend carrying out your own compatibility test. First fill a smaller amount, monitor the behaviour of the packaging (sealing, sprayer functionality, any material changes) and only after verifying suitability use the packaging for long-term storage.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle this bottle at the end of its service life?

If you decide not to use the packaging further, we recommend recycling it in accordance with local waste sorting rules according to the material specified in the product parameters. The aluminium body of the bottle, after thorough emptying and possible rinsing, is typically classified as metal packaging. The mechanism of the trigger sprayer is made up of a mixture of plastic parts and spring elements and therefore usually cannot be recycled together with metal – it is recommended to sort it according to local instructions for composite packaging or place it in mixed waste if separation is not possible. Before handing over for recycling, it is always advisable to check the current recommendations of your collection system.
